Question about Video Game Consoles & Games

1 Answer

My PS3 put an error #80010514 on the screen when I tried to play a game. After looking online for solutions I saw a suggestion to install the updates online for PS3 and that might help. I installed the updates and now my PS3 does not recognize when I insert any kind of cd whether it is a game disc or movie DVD.

I tried what you had said and everything worked with the format, unfortunately the PS3 still does not recognize when any kind of disc is inserted. I put one in and it loads it, and then nothing happens - whether it is a game or a movie.

Hello,

you will have to do a system restore on your PS3. The restore will wipe off every thing on the game and I believe this should resolve the issue.

Follow the steps below accordingly on your game:

Put your PS3 in Standby Mode. The first thing your going to want to know is your model number. It can be found on the back panel of the PS3 on the serial number label, and it will begin with CECH. Example - Serial: XXXXXXXXXXXX-CECHXXX -

For models: CECHA01, BO1, E01, E01MG, G01, H01, H01MG, K01, LO1, AND P01, it will have a power switch on the back. Flip it off then back on and you will have a solid red indicator light on the front.

For models: CECH-2001A and 2001B, press the power button on the front until the indicator light turns red. If all else fails unplug the power cord and plug it back

Time to enter Safe Mode. Press and hold your finger over the power button on the front until you hear three beeps and the indicator light goes back to red. Then release the button. (The second you touch it you will hear a beep, that's the first beep. Five seconds later a second beep, another five seconds the third and final beep will sound then the indicator light will return to red.)

Press and hold your finger over the power button again until you hear a quick double beep. The release the button. (The second you touch it you will hear a beep, that's the first beep. Five seconds later a second beep, another five seconds you will hear the double beep.)

You will then see this screen. "Connect the controller with the USB cable, then press the PS button".

Connect the USB cable to the USB port on the front of your PS3 and the top of your game controller, (between the left and right bumpers). Then Press the PS button in the center of the controller.

You will then see this screen. -REMINDER: -BY DOING THE FOLLOWING ALL OF YOUR DATA ON YOUR PS3 WILL BE LOST, YOUR ONLINE STATS ARE ON THE NETWORK SO YOU WILL GET THAT STUFF BACK, INCLUDING GAMES AND ADDONS YOU BOUGHT FROM THE PSN.-

Select option number 5. (Restore PS3 System). Then select yes to perform step. You will then see this screen. "The hard disk's file system is corrupt and will be restored.

The PS3 will then restart. You will see many different languages, all that is is saying is, "Connect the controller with the USB cable, then press the PS button". Press the PS button and set your settings when it finishes it will start up and its fixed!

I wish you good luck.

    Hello,

I am beginning to suspect the lens (laser) of your PS3. Its sounds to me as if the lens (laser) is weak and that's why it cannot load any disc. If the lens (laser) was still functioning, it should be able to load discs.

How long have you been using this PS3? The lens (laser) might be weak and needs replacement.

You might also try cleaning it with a lens cleaner,or use cotton board/wool to clean the surface of the lens and try again. If that doesn't work, then maybe the lens (laser) needs replacement.

    Good luck.

For the ps3 I try to play a game but when I put in any disc it says error code 80010514 every time or sometimes it just freezes I tried some things but disentangle work pleas help me ..!!!

It's related to a hard drive issue. Maybe a game installation or a firmware update was not correctly completed. What I suggest you to do is to try re-installing the ps3 firmware updates.

MY PS3 HAS STOPPED PLAYING GAMES NOW I TRY TO LOAD A GAME THIS ERROE COMES UP 80010514

Either a) a faulty sector on the internal hard drive, or b) a faulty installation of software/firmware.

These are both serious issues that are permanent. A factory reset may help but is unlikely.

Got error code 80010514 after trying play COD online, screen froze now no other games will play

hi,

this error code (80010514) is indeed a hardware failure, to be more specific, the Blueray drive has failed and the system will not run like this. If you can still avail the warranty, then sent it back for replacement under warranty. I hope this may help you,

best regards,

Return under warranty, ps3 uses a high powered blu ray laser that can melt the lens after extensive use, sony is working on a fix and will repair this for you for free unless you have opened the case.

Motorstorm 80010514 erro

your error means this according to what I could find out : 80010514 - Disc error detected. Retrying operation. Do your other games work. If so, then you may have a bad game disc. Or it may be scratched or dirty. If your other discs work, then I would try this game on someone elses unit, or check it for dirt/fingerprints. If that doesnt work, you could try a cd lens cleaner disc..it may help.
