Hoover cleaner model u5057-930

Hi! Below are step-by-step instructions on how to change the belt on your U5057930.

1. Place handle in operating position and turn cleaner over so bottom side is up.

2. To remove bottom plate, insert end of flat screwdriver into wide area of right-hand slot and push handle of screwdriver to the rear.Repeat in left-hand slot.

3. Lift extension of bottom plate, rotate plate and remove from cleaner body.

4. Remove agitator and broken agitator belt.

5. Slip agitator through new belt. (With lettering toward outside of cleaner) and position belt in belt guide. Push end of belt into opening in cleaner body. Reposition agitator making sure to align flat sides of projection on belt end of agitator with flat sides of slot in cleaner body.

6. Place the three tabs on bottom plate into slots in front of cleaner body. Snap bottom plate into place over agitator.

7. Remove hood by turning cleaner over and removing nozzle control knob on front of hood -- grasp knob and pull up.

8. Place handle in operating position and turn cleaner over. Insert end of flat screwdriver into one of the four slots beside an arrow on bottom of cleaner.

9. For slots nearest the rear wheels, push handle of screwdriver toward cleaner handle; for remaining two slots, pry outward to release latches.

I0. Turn cleaner over and lift off hood.

Il. Stretch new belt onto motor pulley.

Extra effort may be required to stretch new belt onto pulley.

Turn agitator, making sure the belt is not pinched between agitator and cleaner body. The belt must rotate freely inside the belt guide. If agitator does not turn, remove bottom plate and reposition belt in belt guide. Hope this helps. If you have further questions feel free to reach out to us hear on Fixya!

I am trying to repair a Sunbeam Model T-35 radiant control toaster. Everything is working but I can't seem to get the timer control (for setting light and dark) set correctly. Is there some...

I have/had a similar problem. Here's how I fixed it.
UNPLUG THE TOASTER
1. Clean the crumbs out throughly. I removed the bottom of the toaster (6 screws) to make sure all the debris was removed. Use a soft brush. Replace bottom and tighten screws. 2. Gently brush the sensor area in the 'one slice' slot with a soft brush. 3. Remove 'darker-lighter' knob. I gently pried mine off with a small screwdriver. 4. Plug toaster in. 5. Put a slice of your usual bread in the 'one slice' slot. 6. Watch it toast. 7. When 'done' to your liking slowly rotate the control counter clockwise using a small screwdriver until the toaster stops toasting. 8. Replace knob with the pointer at the mid point (up and down) to allow for minor adjustments.

MY vaccuum wont suction or turn at the brush bar. The wand works and I already checked/cleaned all the areas the instrucion manual said to.

The DC07 has a "brush control system" operated by a knob on the right side of the base. This knob has two positions: "bare floors" (or "off") and "carpet" (or "auto"). The roller will turn only when the knob is on "carpet", and even then only when the handle is tilted back (with the base still flat on the floor). The problem is that this system uses two belts, only one of which is easy to see. If you're sure that the control knob is in the correct position, and still the roller doesn't turn when the handle is lowered, then most likely the belt that you can't see is broken (that belt goes from the motor to the clutch mechanism behind the control knob). It's also possible that the clutch itself has failed.
Belt/clutch replacement on this model is not for the faint-hearted! To see what's involved, you can go to www.dysonmedic.com then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "DC07 clutch replacement". At least you will see how to remove the clutch cover so you can check on the other belt and confirm if this is the problem or not. Then you have to decide who is to do the job!
As for loss of suction, check carefully for splits in the short length of clear plastic hose on the underside of the machine (pull it off from the motor end and then unscrew it from the brush-roll end).
I value your feedback, so please remember to rate this response. Good luck!

Brushes not moving

The DC14 has a "brush control system" operated by a knob on the right side of the base. This knob has two positions: "bare floors" (or "off") and "carpet" (or "auto"). The motor turns the roller only when the knob is on "carpet", and even then only when the handle is tilted back (with the base still flat on the floor). Make sure the knob is in the correct position.
Next possibility is that a belt has broken. The problem is that this system uses two belts, only one of which is easy to see. If you're sure that the control knob is in the correct position, and still the roller doesn't turn (although you can turn it freely by hand), then most likely a belt is broken. It's also possible that the clutch itself has failed.

I have a 4 year old pink dyson that I've loved until recently. It's always been easy to unclog when it wasen't picking up-now it seems maybe a seal problem has occured. The suction is making a funny noise...

Thanks for your response.First: (This is most likely as you say the suction is making a funny noise.) The DC07 has a short length of clear plastic hose on the underside of the machine. Check this very carefully for splits (pull it off from the motor end and then unscrew it from the brush-roll end). Even the smallest split can cause serious loss of suction. If you find a split it's best, and inexpensive, to replace the hose rather than try to repair it. Next: (Less likely.) Most, but not all, models of the DC07 have a "brush control system" operated by a knob on the right side of the base. This knob has two positions: "bare floors" (or "off") and "carpet" (or "auto"). The roller will turn only when the knob is on "carpet", and even then only when the handle is tilted back (with the base still flat on the floor). Dust pick-up will bee poor if the brush-roll has stopped working. The problem is that this system uses two belts, only one of which is easy to see. If you're sure that the control knob is in the correct position, but the roller doesn't turn when the machine is on and the handle is lowered, then most likely one of the belts is broken (one belt goes from the motor to the clutch mechanism behind the control knob, the other from the clutch to the brush-roll). It's also possible that the clutch itself has failed.

At least you will see how to remove the clutch cover so you can check on the other belt and confirm if this is the problem or not. Then you have to decide who is to do the job!
But, with any luck, you will find that it's that little plastic hose that's the problem anyway... and don't listen to the Oreck salesman!

Dyson DC14 roller doesn't turn but everything else works. The belt is on correctly, the roller is clean and it turns manually so I can't figure out the problem.

I have a dyson upright and he beater brush is not turning

There are four possible reasons for the problem. We will take them from the easiest to fix to the hardest.

1. The manual clutch is not engaged. On the bottom right side of the vaccum is the manual clutch knob. Be sure it is rotated all the way forward. The clutch should now engage when the handle is lowered from the upright position to the vacuumig position.

2. The brush bar is entangled with debris keeping it from turning. Turn the vacuum over, remove the brush bar cover by using a coin to turn the screw like pinions a quarter turn counter-clockwise. Remove any hair, carpet fibers or other items wrapped around the brush bar. Disengage the manual clutch by turning it toward the back of the vacuum. Try turning the brush bar by hand to see that it moves freely.

3. The brush bar is broken. While you have the brush bar cover removed, inspect the brush bar for any cracks or other signs of damage. The frequency of a damaged or defective brush bar is higher than most people may think. If damaged, the brush bar will need to be replaced.

4. The clutch assebly is not functioning properly. In that case, it would be best to have a service tech handle the matter. If you want to inspect the clutch or even consider replacing it yourself, this link may be of interest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_CtaFcc5HU

Hope I've been of some help.

Hoover self propelled U6630900 idler arm lock

Remove the bottom plate (4 screws), remove belts and brush roller. There may be 1 small screw in the center front of the vac under the brush roller. remove this one. If this is a bagless model you will also need to remove all of the back screws (torx) that hold the lower hose on. This needs to be removed to take the hood off. underneath on each side of the power drive assembly you will have 1 screw, remove them. there is a clip on each side that snaps the front on, push them out with a screwdriver. Then the hood is removed.
