Question about MSI P6NGM-FD Core 2 Quad Socket 775 1333MHz PC2-6400 Motherboard Retail

1 Answer

No sound from front headphones

On board audio is Realtek ALC880 HD audio and no matter what configuration i use I can't get sound out of the front case phone jack. I've downloaded all the updated drivers I could fine, went over the board connections several times, disabled the "jack detection" as sugested at some boards. The jack worked fine with my MSI 865 PE Neo 3 with AC`97 that I replaced so i know it should work.
Also the front usb ports work but interesting enough the additional back usb bracket aren't functioning.

The speaker is good, no problems there..everything is in correct slot & plugs per instructions. I think this advice to check the amps etc may very well lead to the answer and will have my brother( who's better with power issues than I ) check it out when i bring the PC to him in a few days.

I'm am still open to other suggestions we can try as well.' Thanks,

    Lisavisa

This is called and Echo, if you can get Realtek drivers or if already installed you will need to configure them not to produce this echo or at least minimize it. Click on the Speaker icon on the lower right hand of your monitor this will allow you to configure your Realtek HD Audio software. ebiau.jpgClick on sound manager ......on the Menu's click on the Microphone and select Noise Suppression this will do the magic.

Can't hear audio

I found many references to this issue but I am not sure which may apply to your problem. Here is a set of steps to follow from another site: (Assumes Vista and Realtek)

  • Open Vista’s Control Panel (Window | Control Panel)
  • Open the Realtek Audio Manager (not “Sound”)
  • In the navigation bar in the far right, there is a little yellow folder icon. It is just below “Device advanced settings” and above “ANALOG”. Click the folder icon.
  • Click “Disable front panel jack detection” so that a yellow check mark shows up. Hit “OK”, and close the Realtek HD Audio Manager. That should re-enable the sound

Realtek HDA driver

The driver you are installing needs more requirements. try to install driver from mother board CD. If not try to download realtek HD driver compatible to your processor.
