  • Hi, to "Subtract a >Higher (#,$) numbers from a <Lower (#, $) numbers; you take the "bigger number 167, place that number (over the smaller number 78 and from (right to left) take away numbers. Example: 167 - 86 = Think of 167 as $167.00 and 86 as $86.00, so to make $86.00 into $167.00 you'll need a $81.00 more. So if you think about how much more money you will need to "Add" to make a certain amount, it is just the same as how much you "Don't have! You have $167.00 when you go shopping for clothes, and you spend $86.00 when you count how must money you have left, it add up to $81.00 "That's "Subtracting." "Subtract (167 from 86 you get 81). " Always remember the Higher, or Larger number goes on top! " If you want to check to see if the answer is "right," add the two number together,(86 + 81 = 167). "I hope this helped you, rating the solution is appreciated, thanks"

Hi, to "Subtract a Lower number from a Higher number, you will need to take 86 - 167 = You will need to borrow money; if you need $167.00 and only have $86.00 you need $81.00, so 86 - 167 you have to switch the numbers around to 167 - 86 = the same amount, = 81 the higher number goes on top! "Thanks again, paul7of9"

Serial # range for marlin model 60 with 18 shot tube and last shot bolt hold open

On Marlin-branded Model 60 rifles, the first two digits of the serial number indicate the year of manufacture. For example, if the serial number starts with 18... The 18 is significant, for subtracting it from 2000 gives the date of manufacture for the rifle, 1982. Likewise, a serial number starting with 17 would be a rifle manufactured in 1983.

This method has not been uniformly followed. It is valid only from 1971 through 1999. Prior to 1971, the first two digits indicated the year of manufacture. For example, a rifle with a serial number starting with 70... would have been made in 1970. Starting in 2000, this same old method has returned; the first two digits once more indicate the year of manufacture directly, with no subtraction required.

How to change fehrenheit to Celsius

Can you give us the model number and brand name of the thermometer you are trying to change? If you have a calculator you can do the math. To convert temperatures in degrees Fahrenheit to Celsius, subtract 32 and multiply by .5556 (or 5/9). Here are some examples for you:

Example: Convert 26° Celsius (a nice warm day) to Fahrenheit

First: 26° × 9/5 = 234/5 = 46.8
Then: 46.8 + 32 = 78.8° F

Example: Convert 98.6° Fahrenheit (normal body temperature) to Celsius

First: 98.6° ? 32 = 66.6
Then: 66.6 × 5/9 = 333/9 = 37° C

I have a TI-86, whenever i input - it shows Ans- and then it show that is an error. how can i fix it.

The - key is for subtraction, an operation that needs two numbers. If you press - as the first key on a line, the calculator assumes you want to subtract something from the previous answer, Ans.

If you want to enter a negative number, use the (-) key on the bottom row of the keyboard, just to the left of the Enter key.

My TI-5130 will not add and subtract

It probably uses adding machine logic. Try the following example.

You should get 3, -1, and 4 on the screen, the running total. The tape should show the +3, -4, +5, and finally 4, the numbers that you entered and the total. Think of each entry as adding/subtracting integers on a number line rather than 3+4-5;)

Let me know if you have any questions.

IN feet and inchs

Calculate the number of feet. You will get a whole number and most likely a decimal. Subtract the whole number and multiply the remaining decimal by 12.

Example: 3.873459. From this we subtract the whole number 3, leaving us with 0.873459. We multiply this by 12, as there are 12 inches in a foot. I get 10.481508". So the net result is 3' 10.481508".

Good luck.

Subtract 32 then divide by 1.8
For example, to convert 68 degrees F to C, subtract 32 from 68 to get 36, then divide by 1.8 to get 20. 68 degrees F is 20 degrees C.

Demonstrate how to multiply two binomials

  1. Adding and Subtracting Binomials
    • 1

Arrange each term in each binomial in order of degree from greatest to least. The degree of a binomial is the exponent attached to the term. For example, 4x^2 is a second degree term.

    • 2

Multiply each term in the binomial that is being subtracted by -1 to turn it into an addition problem. For example, the problem (8x^2 + 8) - (x^2 - 2) becomes (8x^2 + 8) + (-x^2 + 2).

    • 3

Combine like terms. In the example problem, the x^2 terms are combined and the constant terms are combined, yielding (8x^2 + 8) + (-x^2 + 2) = 7x^2 + 10.

    Multiplying Binomials
    • 4

Understand the F.O.I.L. method. F.O.I.L. is an acronym standing for first, outside, inside and last. It means that you multiply the first number of the first binomial by the first number of the second, then the numbers on the outside (the first term of the first binomial by the second term of the second binomial) and so on. This ensures that both numbers in the first binomial are multiplied by both numbers in the second.

    • 5

Use the F.O.I.L. method to multiply the two binomials together. For example, (3x + 4)(3x - 4) = 9x^2 +12x - 12x - 16. Notice that -12x is the product of the outside terms and -16 is the product of the last terms, 4 and -4.

    • 6

Simplify. There will almost always be like terms to combine. In the example, 12x and -12x cancel out, yielding the answer 9x^2 - 16.

    Dividing Binomials
    • 7

      Use the distributive property to divide both terms in the binomial by the monomial divisor. For example, (18x^3 + 9x^2) / 3x = (18x^3 / 3x) + (9x^2 / 3x).

    • 8

Understand how to divide by a term. If you are dividing a higher order term by a lower order term, you subtract the exponent. For example, y^3/y = y^2. The number part of each term is handled like any other division problem. For example, 20z / 4 = 5z.

    • 9

      Divide each term in the binomial by the divisor; (18x^3 / 3x) + (9x^2 / 3x) = 6x^2 + 3x.

How to find the mean absolute deviation

Add all the numbers together to get the sum.
Divide the sum by the number of numbers to get the mean.
so you have
1,2,3,4, that is 10. divide ten by four. because there are 4 numbers.
you get 2.5. Take each number and subtract 2.5. Discard all the negatives from the pile. So in essence you are taking the above example and subtracting 2.5 from 3 and 4 because the other two are going to be negative. so the answer is 3 - 2.5 and 4 - 2.5 which is 2. then take that 2 and divide by the number of items that you subtracted from which is 2. 2/2 is 1. one is the mean standard deviation.

My calculator will add, but after my total and then I want to subtract, it subtracts by the number I added.

If your calculator is more of an adding machine it works a little bit differently than a calculator. For an example: 10 + 5 - 2 on your machine do the addition of 10 + 5, then to subtract the 2 press 2 then the minus sign to get the total of 13. I hope this is helpful.
