Question about Heating & Cooling

Open Question

Fridgedair window a/c mod FAS157P1A1. It has been unplugged during the winter. When I plugged it in three lights came on. Mode- fan and energy saver, also timer light. Nothing seems to work. This unit is only 5yrs old.

How long did you leave it plugged in? There may be a time delay before it starts when you first plug it in. Do you still have the owner's manual?

SOURCE: thermostat ?

I'm thinking the bi-metal is working, that's why you can hear a click, but the contacts are welded together. The bi-metal doesn't have enough strength to break the weld. Time for a new thermostat.

SOURCE: Energy Saver setting

Could not find a manual, but that setting is the setting that you choose to leave on and let the air conditioner decide the most effecient way to run during the day. There are too many ways to approach that answer in a small conversation. There are many things to consider and I will leave you with a link to a PDF that explains better of what I am writing. The Energy Saver is not supposed to just shut down the unit, it cycles the unit on and off as room temperature alters.
Practically it put unit to rest when temperature is reached, and wake it up when temperature change again.
It is just a mode that turn the compressor earlier to save energy, but the compressor will still be working until temperature is reached.

SOURCE: i have a kenmore model

Looks like u have an overload problem, most likely compressor. Need to check with a multi-meter. Could also be high pressure lock-out. If you´re unit is Electonics, it would have to be reset manually and by that time, the hp condition gone down. Some also have a low compressor pressure disc that could be failing. Hope it helps Regards Guy

How do I get my Samsung fridge model #rs25hs5000bc off demo mode? I tried holding down energy saver and power freezer but doesn't work.

IT is three buttons not two. Cooling Off mode (also called Shop mode), is designed for use by retailers when they display refrigerators on the shop floor. In Cooling Off mode, the refrigerator's fan motor and lights work normally, but the compressors do not run, and the refrigerator and freezer do not get cold. To start Cooling Off mode, press and hold the Energy Saver button, the Freezer button and the Lighting button for 5 seconds during normal operation. The refrigerator chime sounds and O-FF appears on the display. To cancel Cooling Off mode, press and hold the Energy Saver button, the Freezer button and the Lighting button again for 5 seconds, until the chime sounds. Cooling Off mode is only available on refrigerators sold in the U.S. Instructions are on page 20=> HERE

How can I turn on the energy saver on my LWHD2400HR air conditioner? There is no switch on the A/C, only an indicator light that says "Energy Saver"?

The Energy Saver mode is activated by using the hand held remote control, that comes with the unit. Pressing the Energy Saver button activates it. Once activated the fan will shut OFF when the the compressor does. After which, about every 3 minutes the fan will turn ON to check the room air to determine if cooling is needed.

It sounds like, you're missing the hand held remote control?

My airconditioner has been on energy saver for almost 2 days and will not come on what should be do

If this is a window or wall unit. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF. Unplug the unit and wait 12-15 minutes. Then, plug the unit back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the controls on anything except energy saver. If the unit then operates as it should, let it run for at least an hour before switching it to Energy Saver Mode. If that's the way you want to operate it. If it doesn't restart and run like it should or it shuts OFF on Energy Saver Mode, there is a problem with one of the setting sensors and needs to be replaced.

Also, while you have the unit unplugged, check the outlet to make sure it's still active. You can do this by plugging in a lamp. If the lamp doesn't work, the circuit breaker for that outlet has been tripped in your home's circuit breaker panel and needs to be reset. When you plug the AC unit back in and it trips the breaker again, there is an electrical short or overload in the AC Unit.

Please keep in mind everything I suggested is based on your AC being a 120 volt window or wall unit.

Hope this helps you solve the problem.

Why is light blinking on on-off button?

The blinking light indicates that the printer is on power saver mode. The Power Saver Mode saves energy by lowering power consumption during extended periods of inactivity. However, if you try to print from your computer when the printer is on power saver mode, the printer should automatically wake up and prints the job. You can also manually wake it up by just pressing and releasing the power button. Thanks.

Dell E173FP Monitor requires unplugging/plugging back in to wake

Perhaps your computer is hibernating instead of going into standby which takes a little longer to wake up from. While you are playing plugs and cables it give it enough time to come out of hibernation.

When the computer is in this mode the USB ports turn off which disables keyboard and mouse so the only way to wake up the computer is to press the power button on the computer itself.

One tell tale sign a computer is in hibernation is that the power light on the computer will slowly blink.

I hope this helps.
