I'm running windows 7 ultimate.on a compaq presario, whenever I try to log on to internet explorer, it stops responding, when I click on browser, I have norton 360, and also tune up utilities anti virus software installed, it doesn't help

Thanks for using FixYa. The reason for Internet Explorer not responding may be due to presence of spy ware, add-on, virus or corrupted file(s). Please always run anti spy ware programs on a regular basis, up date antivirus, install the latest updates, check suspicious internet explorer add-ons and delete temporary internet files. However, to resolve the issue, you’ll need to delete the IE8 from the computer and install a latest explorer like Google Chrome or any other explorer of your choice. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Fix Adobe Acrobat or Reader 9 Crash on Internet Explorer 7 Problem

Open Internet Explorer.

Hang up internet explorer not responding


If you use Internet Explorer you may experience issues where the browser freezes, hangs up and stops responding.


Although many things can cause the browser to stop responding, if the problem persists there are a few troubleshooting techniques that you can use to fix the problem.


Troubleshooting Internet Explorer may require you to perform a few steps or several, depending on the cause of the problem.

Click "Start," choose "All Programs" and click on the "Windows Update" option.

A new window will appear.


Click the "Check for updates" link on the left side of the window.

Windows will connect to the internet and search for updates for your system.


Click the "Install updates" button on the right side of the window.

Windows will automatically download and install any updates it finds.


Restart your computer, if prompted.


Delete Temporary Internet Files


Click "Start" and select "Control Panel."


Click the "Network and Internet" selection then click on "Internet Options."

The Internet Properties dialog box will appear.


Click the "Delete" button beneath the "Browsing history" section.

A new window will appear.


Place a check-mark next to "Temporary Internet files" and click "Delete."

Allow the computer to delete the temporary internet files then close the Internet Properties dialog box.


Remove Problematic Add Ons


Click "Start" and enter "Internet Explorer" into the Windows search bar.


Click on "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)" when it appears in the list.

Internet Explorer will launch with no add-ons running.


Click "Tools" on the right side of the browser and select "Manage Add ons."

A pop up window will appear.


Click on "Toolbars and Extensions" beneath the "Add on Types" section on the left side of the window.

A list of add ons will appear on the right side of the window.


Scroll through the list of installed add-ons and locate third party add ons that you've recently installed.

Note that you can look at the "File date" for a date of when you installed the add on.

Look for add ons that you installed at approximately the same time you began experiencing issues with Internet Explorer not responding.


Click on any suspected problematic add-ons and click the "Disable" button at the bottom of the window. Close "Internet Explorer (No Add ons)" and restart the browser normally.


Verify that disabling the add-on fixes the problem.

If not, repeat this section and disable another recently installed add on until you fix the problem.

Try clearing the cookies and browsing hisotry of your web browser:
If you're using Internet Explorer:
o use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature from Control Panel, follow these steps:
  1. Exit all programs, including Internet Explorer (if it is running).
  2. If you use Windows XP, click Start, and then click Run. Type the following command in the Open box, and then press ENTER: inetcpl.cplIf you use Windows Vista, or Windows 7 click Start vistastartbutton.jpg. Type the following command in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER: inetcpl.cplThe Internet Options dialog box appears.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Under Reset Internet Explorer settings, click Reset. Then click Reset again.
  5. When Internet Explorer finishes resetting the settings, click Close in the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box.
  6. Start Internet Explorer again.

Hi my name is peter and i have a compaq presario sr2150nx desktop. im running windows 7 ultimate and the computer is not hooked up to the internet. and the screen when u can choose which user to log in it...


All the user profiles are corrupted - some installed program that should be launched during boot is incompatible with Win 7.
Since you don't know which program and the extent of the corruption all you can do is to reinstall Windows and then install all the programs back, one at a time - when the problem returns you will know that the last program is bad, get rid of it.

2. Open Control Panel
3. Open Add or Remove programs
4.Find "Windows Internet Explores 7"
5. Click Remove and follow on-screen instructions.

If you want to remove Internet Explorer completely.

After step 3.
4. On the right hand panel, click on Add / Remove Windows Components
5. On the new window, uncheck "Internet Explorer"
6. Click "Next" and follow on-screen instructions.

How to turn on/off browser cookie functionality


Hello

If you're receiving an error message that says, Your browser's cookie functionality is turned off. Please turn it on:
Open Internet Explorer, and click Tools along the top of your browser window.

Select Internet Options... and click the Content tab at the top of the dialogue box. If the Content Advisor is enabled, please disable it.

Click OK.

Next, please clear your browser's cache. To clear your cache in IE:
In Internet Explorer 6.x:
  1. Log out of Gmail. Close all other open browser windows.
  2. Click the Tools menu at the top of your browser, and select Internet Options.
  3. Click the General tab at the top of the dialogue box.
  4. Click Delete Files under Temporary Internet files.

No internet browser nothing happens when click on browser


Try downloading Internet Explorer 8 from this site http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/internet-explorer/ and install it. It would solve your browsing problem.

you got a virus, superantispyware is a free one that will remove most of them if you dont have antivirus then download free avast antivirus that one will help you remove all of that.
