Xerox printing all black pages

You have no light output. The system places a charge, the image will remove charge (without image processing, the system leaves full charge ) (removes charge where no image is if negative processing)
EX: a copier has platen closed makes a copy because the cover has a white surface the light is reflected and removes charge from Drum. If you make a copy with platen open out put will appear black. Charge was not erased, toner is attracted to charged area.
Most systems use a small wire to place charge, depending on what development (pos or neg) with broken wire will also result in either a black or blank output. I would look for a broken charge wire.

I have scanned several negative images to my computer easily but naively thought they'd be put in a full jpeg image so they would look like a proper photo image not a negative image. What do I need to do...

Once on the computer in negative format, only image manipulation softawares are capable of restoring to display impressions. For example, photo softwares are capable of restorations with anti colation fillin voids to achieve image regularity. However, transforming the negative to regular image makes jpeg formating very convenient thereafter.

I am curious if there is an easy way to print and change positive to negative. What I mean is I want to print a recipe out of a magazine that has a ligt printing on a dark background. Rather than use a ton...

Yes you can but it's called setting the print color to "black and white" only. This way the solid black page will be just a very light gray and uses less ink.

To change the print color to "black and white", go to your printer icon in Control panel and right click on your primary printer (the one that is on default). Next click the button "printing preferences" or click on the tab that says the same. Click on the tab that says paper / quality and choose the "PRINT BLACK OR WHITE" option.

That should help you save your black printing problems.

Let me know if this worked for you ok?

When I get my prints developed from my Fisheye 2 camera, all the images are to one side. The fisheye image has a chunk missing from it and appears like a 3/4 circle, with about 1/4 of the print just...

Check the negatives: you should clearly see that the images are complete, although where they've been cut into strips it's possible that the cut may have gone through an image. If there are very few complete circular images, then you have a camera problem and problems are not at all rare on Lomo cameras which are in general of absolutely dreadful quality.

if you can eliminate the camera as the cause, then the fault is with the photographic processing service. The process is mostly automated, and the machine which makes the prints from the negatives expects to find nice regular rectangular images with neat straight unexposed lines between them. Your FishEye 2 produces circular images instead with wide hourglass-shaped unexposed partitions and so it's confused the machine.

If you've used an ultra-budget postal processing service then they might agree to reprint for you but will usually (and entirely fairly) point to a clause along the lines of "at these prices, this service is for regular 35mm prints only". In future always use local processing shops and tell them clearly what to expect as they can manually intervene and ensure that the prints come out correctly.

This should solve your problem, if so please rate my answer.

Won't print in color. Looks like a negative

Try going to printer settings either via 'file' 'print' or 'start' 'control panel' 'printers'
some printers have settings colour - text - photo - gray scale - chrome - negative etc Click on the one you need & 'save'
Alternatively, if the print has some colour but lacks others you may be out of ink/toner of the missing colour[s]

Print Quality Problem with Brother 2820 Fax

sounds like you are using generic drum and toner. try OEM (brother brand). you say copies are coming out completely gray. try printing an internal report from the control panel. if that is gray or received faxes are gray, then the problem is not in your scanner area, and i would wager you are using "generic" supplies.

My HP printer 2420 leaves "ghost" prints on the pages.

This can be caused by one of two things.

1. faulty wiper blade on your toner so that the previous image in not being wiped off the drum.
2. worn fuser sleve.

To work out which it is you will need to do a half stop test: print off a normal document then when it is about half way through the printer ( unfortunatly you may have to repeat this to get the timing right) open the front cover. remove the toner cartridge. if you can see the ghosting on the page the it is the toner. if its not there then its a new fuser. to save on money and if your confident enouh you may be able to just chane the fuser sleve depending on the state of the fuser on a whole.

hope this helps

Laser Printer Problem

Do a panic stop while the machine is in the middle of processing copy. Remove the imaging unit and lift the drum cover to view the surface of the drum. If the image produced on the drum is OK (ie.no ghost image) then focus your attention on the hot rollers just before the paper exit. Otherwise your problem is the imaging unit.
