Sounds like there is a broken line or small hole in the boiler.

Hissing vent and steam coming out of back upper area of machine can I fix it myself

Hi... It sounds like something may/could have become disconnected. I wouldn't hesitate to take the back off... the problem should 'in this case' be obvious.

No steam pressure

Leave the valve open until it starts slowly hissing, then shut off valve and wait for the pressure to build up.

Espresso machine HISSING!

It sounds like you have the cup warmer turned on. But if that's not it there is a leak in a connection coming from the bolier. If you open it up it will be obvious where it's at. Don't wait too long because the moisture will effect the electronics.

I turn the ECM Giotto on, the light comes on but the pump does not activate and no heat. 2 hours later it all works fine.

Try this open the steam valve when you turn the machine on, leave the valve open until it starts to hiss with steam, then turn off valve. If that works then the vent valve is sticking and needs to be replaced.

My Titanium leaking water. Under it

The steam valve assembly that the steam knob on the right hand side connects into is probably faulty. When you're steaming if you hear hissing coming from behind the knob then this indicates the connections into this assembly are leaking steam, and also hot water, which is why you're getting puddles under the machine. You can get a replacement steam valve assembly that fixes some issues with the original (part code SVM-17, available from www.partsguru.com) and will prevent the leakage, or you could simply try opening the top of the coffee machine and removing the tube that runs from the boiler into the steam valve. It has two o-rings that provide the seal where it connects into the steam valve assembly, and if you lubricate these with a food grade silicon lubricant it may fix the problem. My Gaggia is 7 years old so I decided to replace the whole assembly which costs about $50 and that solved the problem completely.

I have a lapavoni europacola machine and there is a small pipe that comes down between the lever and the steam pipe for the cappuccino. This pipe has been bent up into a "v" position. I bent...

Hi there,
This pipe as you will see has a collar at the top with a large bolt in the middle. This is a steam release device. Inside the bolt there is a bung and a spring which is basically if the boiler over pressurises, steam will push past the bung and hiss from the bolt. Obviously with steam you will get condensation so when the machine is coming to pressure you will get some steam coming out until the bung forms the seal and any condensation will channel down the pipe and into the drip tray below. This pipe should not be bent into a V shape and should point down towards the back of the group head so the end it directly above the drip tray. Any problems or still unsure then please get in touch at domesticespresso@live.com

All the best

No hot water or steam from wand.

If steam wand is not blocked then the problem is on the inside of the machine, try descaling the machine that might clear the blockage in the steam line.
