Question about Tomtom GO 730 Car GPS Receiver

1 Answer

The device switches off after a very short time. As this happened previously, I asked Currys, but they didn't know the answer - just reset the receiver and told me to charge it up. I did this before using it for 2 hours 5 days ago, but when I tried using it again yesterday, (I hadn't re-charged again) it switched off after 30 secs. Surely the battery should last more than 5 days when not being used? I was given the device as a present in Jan 2009 and have used it infrequently - probably 30 times max. When it works, it is very good, apart from some strange routes on occasions!

How to reset?

Look on the back and around the edges of the unit. There should be a small hole that will need a paperclip for you to reset the unit, It may be hidden and most times has very tiny writing on it but it does say reset, Just push this and the unit will reset itself.

Also i know you didn't ask this but it's a common question anyways. Do not program your home address into the unit under the quick buttons and do not set up the security password on the unit. Most common question i see is "How do i find out my password?"

Answer you don't, you pay Magellon and i have no idea what they charge.

Hope this helps

Fuji Finepix 470batteries only last a very short time. Previously

Most of time it is a battery problem.... try with another battery, before purchasing new one....
If another battery does not works then get it serviced.
Battery has certain time period life (mostly it is expressed in, "no. of times charge") after that battery power deteriorates...
Or if battery has been water clogged then also battery power deteriorates.... (for water clogging may happens exposure of battery to humid conditions)
Please rate the answer if you find it useful...
thanks for rating....

How can i unlock my garmin nuvi 200. what steps do i have to do to access my garmin.i bought my garmin from a friend who got it at a pawnshop.and its asking me for a pin that i do not have.can you help me?

Since you bought the device used, it's likely the previous owner did not clear the passwords and data. Short of tracking down the previous owner, there is no way to unlock the unit without doing a factory reset. Here's a guide to reset the Garmin GPS units to their original factory settings.

Is there a reset button on the dyson

The short answer: No. The longer answer begins with a question: why do you need to know, what's happened to make you ask? Most Dysons have a built in cut-out system that stops the machine if it gets too hot. This usually happens because the filter needs washing or the machine is blocked. If your machine turns off on its own, unplug it and leave it for at least an hour. The cut-out should reset itself when it's cool enough.  Remember to check the filter and look for blockages before re-starting.  If the cut-out does not reset itself, you may need professional help.

Jasjar - Voice cracks too much

Sometimes these devices get hot.So try switching it off and remove the battery as well as the sime and wait than for a while.Do than a hard reset.I must warn to first back up important information from the device as once you do a hard reset. The device will be restored to the orginal factory settings and all data will be lost.Try this and see.I had a problem with the device ringing very shortly like about three to four rings and than it just it would just cut off.People would complain about me not answering the phone. But it was not me but the device not giving me enough time to answer. So I did a hard reset and it is working fine ....for now.I'll see what happeneds. So try this and see if this is a problem with all your calls than have the software checked out.

"but Currys dont understand." - Sounds like a case of willful ignorance, but if the laptop is out of warranty they aren't going to cover it regardless of what some clerk promised you.
If I had a laptop that nice I'd opt for the extended HP warranty.
It's really your cheapest option at this point.
