How do I turn on the wireless to my Acer Aspire 5715Z

Is this a desktop or a laptop ?

for a desktop
Turn on your computer and locate the Wi-Fi icon. This could be located on the upper row on a laptop it will have the radiation look ((())) Make sure its pressed on. There should be an option to "automatically connect" when it detects the network. Look for a checkbox. create the menu tab on your homepage right click in the top toolbar you should see a number of toolbar options select the menu tab which will add File Edit View Favorites Tools and Help
click on the tools at the bottom of the drop down list will be internet options in the connections tab tick in the box never dial a connection below that will be change search defaults click on settings you will see all search providers you have if dont need any of them you can disable or remove them Power on the laptop computer and wait for the operating system to boot before proceeding. Right-click the wireless icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. From the pop-up menu select "Enable." This activates the wireless Internet options but it does not turn on the wireless receiver. Push down on the wireless button or wireless switch on the top of the keyboard. After a moments time the switch or button lights up, signifying the computer is ready for an Internet connection. Right-click the wireless icon again. From the pull-up menu choose to view all available wireless networks in the area. A window appears with all the networks your computer receives some sort of signal from. Select the wireless network you want access to, type in the password (if required) and click "Connect." Momentarily the laptop computer connects to the Internet.
you should be able to, it depends on the laptop, the os, the wireless adapter, and the settings .
Click start Control Panel - Network Connections - right click on 'Wireless connection' (or similar) and click 'enable'. right click on the network in the bottom toolbar select open network sharing center you should have the options to either connect or disconnect or set up a network connection this will vary depending on your operating system Hope this helps.

Use your desktop to connect to the router by typing 192.168.0.1 into the internet explorer address bar. Enter user name and password for your router....if you dont know type you router and modeel name into google it will be there somewhere. Now click on wireless and disable security and see if laptop connects now. Back under security create a new password and connect with this now on laptop

Unable to connect my wifi laptop to my existing wireless b/band

Your wife's laptop is setup to connect to another wireless network. It must be set up now for the wireless network that you are trying to connect to. This means that your wife's laptop is trying to connect to the wireless network somewhere else. You need to let the laptop look for available wireless networks. It should be able to see your wireless network. It will then require you to enter the password that you have set in your Zyxel. If you don't know the password, call Zyxel.

How do i turn on the wireless capability?

Theres a slide on switch there somewhere on the side or front of your laptop. Once you turn that on you will see an a little computer icon on the lower task bar of your desktop screen near where the time is shown. That is telling you that your wireless radio is on ready to accept and connect to any unsecured wireless network.

You should have a quick reference sheet that came with your laptop (if new) which usually shows you which and where the features are at (USB, wireless switch, etc) .

If you have Vista just right click that little icon and select "Connect to a network" and if theres any wireless network in range choose whichever network (SSID) you want to connect to

Or in Vista click on Help and Support and on search bar type " wireless set up" and it will instruct you on how to proceed.

You can buy a wireless router for your home to connect directly to your existing ISP modem (if you have one)

Also you can obtain your own router than you can connect to existing internet connection which can be shared more than one computer.
