Hi Keith,
"Ric" at Classifieds1000 explains the process better then I can:

http://autoforum.classifieds1000.com/Hyundai-Sonata/2005_Hyundai_Sonata_radio_removal

I would however wrap a flat head screwdriver or stiff/strong butter knife in electrical tape to pry the trim to avoid scratches.

Best of luck!

I need help with a wiring layout for a stereo.

Forget it...go to a car stereo installation shop and buy a wiring harness for your car ($20-40) and you're done!
Good Luck
P.S. might as well buy a dash kit ($30) to make installing the radio simpler as well...if you DON'T have a car stereo shop nearby, order parts from crutchfield.com

Radio won't work after battery change in my 2005 Hyundai Sonata. The trunk light is also on on the dash. Thanks!

In the newer vehicles most of the time the stereo has a security code that has to be entered in order for it to work after power has been disconnected. That code should be in your manual. Hope this helps!

Stereo codes

The radio will have to be removed from the car dashboard

.Then please quote the MAKE + MODEL of your radio plus ALL the LETTERS and NUMBERS on any LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING.

Also quote the MAKE of CAR it is fitted into.
