Lexmark 4875 finds bad CPU speed

Attempting to connect Lexmark X4875 printer with Acer Aspire5610. Lexmark install CD halts with a System Requirement error - processor speed. Driver requires 800mhz (Acer rated at 1.3ghz) and reports computer speed at 429467295 mhz. Tried pulling fresh driver from Lexmark with same result. Error in driver? Or is Acer reporting a corrupted speed?

I bought a Lexmark 4875 for mac. It bombs every application when you hit the "print" button. Downloading the fresh driver didn't help, and their support website doesn't address this issue at all.

Hi There and Welcome to Fixya.

Here's how to use the scanner for your Lexmark X4875 (Basic scanning) :
  • Ensure that both the computer and printer are connected and turned on
  • Load a document facedown on scanner glass
  • From the printer control panel press down or up arrow until "Scan" is highlighted
  • Press the "Action" button
For your convenience, I have included Lexmark's user guide through the below link:

Running Leopard Snow OS 10.6.7 and Lexmark X4875 wireless printer. I can print but cannot open Lexmark work center (for scan etc).

You can download the Lexmark 4800 Series driver from the Lexmark website at However, for the Lexmark OCR scan software, that can only be installed using the install disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark technical support for additional assistance.

My Lexmark Software is adding a new Programs File (x86) so thet the (x86) is doubled and then says there is no printer attached to the computer

What is the operating system of your computer? It could be a conflict of Lexmark software. Disconnect the printer from your computer (if it's connected with a USB cable). Try to uninstall the existing Lexmark X4875 printer software by going to the Start menu -> All Programs/Programs -> Lexmark 4800 Series -> Tools -> Uninstall. Reboot pc when prompted.
To reinstall, use the driver from the Lexmark website available at Select your operating system clicking on "change OS". (see sample below)

Then click on FILTER (see sample below)

Then click on the driver under Recommended Downloads. Download, execute the file and follow the instructions in the software.

I lost installation CD so how do I print from my laptop to lexmark x4875 using WiFi?

This is how you can install a printer to be a network printer. Depending on your version of windows determines how your network will work, but for the most part, as long as you have this printer connected to a Windows PC you should be able to set it up to print wirelessly this way.

I just switched to Verizon DSL from cable and now I can't get my Lexmark x4875 printer to print from the wireless connection. Help

Most likely the change in providers resulted in a change to your internal IP addressing scheme. First, make sure all of your devices have been power-cycled since the change to ensure they are using a valid IP for your network. Then, go to Control Panel -> Printers. From here, Add a Printer and select the Network or Wireless printer and allow Windows to search for your device. It should detect it and add it to your system. You can delete the old printer from the list once you have confirmed it is working properly.

Lexmar 4875 Flatbed Wireless printer not connecting to the networ

I know you posted this in May, so have probably given up and bought a new printer by now, but I thought it worth mentioning that I had the same problem exactly (though without the same number of iphones and laptops!).
Buried away in some documentation on the driver CD, is the fact that the X4875 can't communicate with a secure wireless network that uses a TKIP algorithm - it can only handle AES. My router used TKIP out of the box, and I never thought to change is, especially as it's stronger than AES. However, changing it to AES solved the problem.
By the way, if you're using Vista, you may find that you have to run the install package in Windows XP compatibility mode, and then when the install is complete, manually change every .exe under c:\program files\lexmark\.. to run in XP compatibilty mode too. Works for me (Vista Business), but didn't work wirelessly at all before. Good luck,
Chris J.

Cannot print with Lexmark x4875, Windows Vista OS.

You need to cancel all print jobs for a printer, you must have permission to manage documents on the printer.

1. Open printers by clicking the "Start" button , clicking "Control Panel," clicking "Hardware and Sound," and then clicking "Printers."

2. To open the print queue, double-click the printer you are using.

3. Click the "Printer" menu, and then click "Cancel All Documents." Depending on the printer, the item currently printing might finish, but the remaining items will be cancelled.

Next, you may have to change the communication format called the "Spool format."
Please follow the steps given below to change the spool data format:
1. Click on "Start," "Control Panel," "Hardware and Sound" and "Printers."
2. Then, right click on the Lexmark printer icon and left click "Properties."
3. Either on the "Advanced" tab or the "General" tab for some models, there is a "Print Processor" button, left click it.
4. This is the spool format setting. Under "Print processor" it should be set to "Lexmark 4800 series print processor." Next, under "Default datatype," select "NT EMF 1.008."
5. Click "OK" and exit back out to your desktop.
6. Please try printing again.
If this does not help the situation, please describe any differences it does make.
