Check whether its compatible with Vista. Also if you are trying to use a "cracked' software in Vista, it simply wont respond to any command or recognize the devices its supposed to because Vista does not allow any extra drivers to be added other than those preset in the OS driver database....sodeep
What you can try is to remove the software off your computer not the firmware the software that came with the mp3 player if you remove this then when you plug your mp3 player in it should give you message new device found then you could try installing the software again then it might be able to let you use the firmware update. As you have tried the lead and also your usb port then you know that they are working fine. Just try removing the software that came with the mp3 player then give it another try this way when you plug the mp3 player in the computer wont know what it is and tell you new device found. If it dont say this then you know the mp3 player is to fault and not any of the software on your computer give this a try then get back to me ok.
Once software is removed when you plug it back in it will say new device found and it will come up under my computer as mass storage device if this happens then put the mp3 player into recovery mode then try running the firmware. Let me know what happens ok
I am having the same problem with my PC too. From what I have read over the internet Creative Zen Touch doesn't work on vista windonw. However, I dislike vista window very much for I have been having problem often. If you find out a way and me the same I will email you and you the same. email@example.com
i have a k3, and i had that same problem. my computer wouldn't recognize it, and it was really frustrating. i searched around and i found out a strategy that works for me. i'm not sure if it'll work for you, but you should definitely try it. most likely the case is that the usb port is jacked up. what you need to do is click the start button to bring up the tool bar, then go over to my computer. when you are hovering the mouse over my computer, right click on it and click on properties. click on the hardware tab, and then go down to device manager. once you are in device manager, find a button that says "scan for new hardware" or "scan for hardware changes". it should then recognize your samsung k3. if not, then i dont know what to tell you. haha.
I couldn't find any software that could make your mp4 works, but if you have windows XP you don't need to have a Cd. The computer by itself recognize it. Also if you have the cable just plug it in the new computer and he will recognize it if it is windows XP. but if you have Windows Vista you will have to buy the Disc. I hope my answer helped you .. Thank you
