Question about Acer Aspire T690 (AST690UP820A) PC Desktop
After installing the game the computer says that ubyte4n vertex data is not supported in my video card. what should i do?
What game? You have Intel Graphics, which if you update the graphics drivers might just support ubyte4n (OpenGL 2.1) vertex data; but if you're running something more sophisticated than Peggle (say, Far Cry) you would want a recent vintage of ATI videocard as no doubt mentioned in the install text and on the game's front matter (box, Steam news, etc.) as well. You get one PCI x16 slot to put such a card in; no SLI (but then the cost stays helpfully under $200.)

Simply put it means your Video card is not up to the min standards to play this game.
Do you know what video card is in your PC?
Is it a laptop or desktop?
COD4 needs 100% compatible DirectX 9.0c card with at least 128mb of ram.
Yours I'm afraid doesn't appear to be.
As the game is initializing it checks for the basic requirements to run, as you can see as it reaches the direct 9 interface it seems to except your pixel shader version but can't find transform and lighting (vertex shader) which it needs in order to run, so hence comes up with the error.
You may have to upgrade to DirectX 9c if it will allow you to do so, if not:
The chances are you have an older PC with an older video card (which could possibly be changed and upgraded), or you have a PC with an integrated card (which could also be upgraded) or a laptop with integrated graphics (which will almost be impossible to upgrade)
Although there are some amazing laptops on the market, they are not generally that good at playing high spec modern games, simply put because they are compact, they do not have the room to use the large high powered video cards necessary to do so.
come back with a few more details
hope this helps
