Question about LG WM-0532HW Front Load Washer

2 Answers

My wash machine has a bellows part (4738ER1002A) that is leaking and I took it out. Sure enough it has a tiny hole in one of those accordeon style grooves. If I use silicone sealant will it hold up (at least until I get a new part)? Or is the detergent and hot water going to melt it away?

Well, I tried silicone but it does not adhere to rubber. I will have to go search for something waterproof that adheres to rubber.

I have the same LG washer, with the same drain "bellows" and the part has failed exactly the same way 4 times over about 4-5 years. It is a POOR design. I have tried to give feedback to LG but they are not interested in customer feedback.

Ok, well as long as you get a "Glue" that actually "Melts" into, the existing material, much like a water bed glue/sealer, you will be OK, for a bit. IF you can get inside, then do the repair inside that way the water is pressing it harder against the wall, Just do a couple of "Layers" with the last, patch, bigger than the one underneath, and glue all round the margins, let set, and do the other layer(s) Use really good solvent waterproof glue...sealer silicone...

Why is maytag front load washing machine is leaking at the bottom of the door

Either the door is out of adjustment or the bellows (the rubber large seal on the front of the machine) has a rip or hole in it . This can happen if you fail to remove all items from clothing before washing. Carefully inspect the bellows for holes or foreign objects remove any objects from the machine and replace the bellows if necessary

The following link explains how to access and inspect the interior of a FRONT LOADER and what common sources of leaks to look for:

The most common source of front loader leaks comes from the door bellow (gray rubber seal). A routine inspection around the perimeter of the door for rips or tears will tell if the bellow needs replaced. If the bellow requires replacement, the following link explains how:

Leaking water

If your LG washer is a front loading machine, the bellow or gasket may need to be replaced. this is a common problem with front loaders as the bellow can be pierced by anything that may be in or even on your clothes. I would visually inspect every inch of the front bellow to see if there is a TEAR or PIN HOLE. this can be hard to detect sometimes but can save you alot of grief. hope this helps

Front Loading Washing machine door gasget leaking

These arent terribly difficult with mechanical capabilities. The clamp which snugs the bellow to the tub (toward the inside) can be tricky. The front is snugged by a spring loaded cable. Also, take care to align the fill tube at approx. 10 oclock looking at it from the front. And make sure the fill tube is entirely through the hole in the new bellow. It can get frustrating but usually takes less than 30 min.

Kenmore Bellow Replacement

Make sure the drain holes are clear in the bottom of the bellow. Also, make sure the bellow is aligned properly. There should have been an alignment arrow at the 12 o'clock position. Hope this helps.

Kenmore 44082 Front Load - Door Leak

you did fine several companies built kenmore for sears yours looks like a frigidaire on some models there is a problem with water collecting at the bottom of the door where the bellows or boot is and leak to correct this they came out with a new boot that has a channel at the bottom with three holes in it so the trapped water can drain back into the tub the parts kit for that is 5303937187 now on washers with rubber boots its recommend that you shut the door with a little force to make sure it closes tight against the boot sorry about the letters they came with the part number you might want to call kenmore parts to ask about the boot kit if i was there i could tell you but it looks like a frigidaire to me

Whirlpool duet water leak

Open your wall faucet to full pressure to stop the drip. If this does not work simply change the inlet valve of the machine which is at the top, where the water enters the machine. You can do it yourself. And rate me plz if helped.

Machine leaks

Leaking water usually comes from hoses or connections. Be sure that water appearing to be a leak isn't drain water from a backed-up standpipe (see HERE for information on clearing clogged drains). NOTE: To prevent serious flood damage that can occur if washing machine supply hoses burst, be sure to install "no-burst" stainless-steel mesh hoses and lever-type shutoff valves, as shown in the illustration. With these, you can easily turn off the levers for both hot and cold water between wash days. 1) Check the fittings where hoses connect to the faucets and to the back of the washing machine. Also look for worn or leaky hoses. Tighten couplings or hose clamps if necessary, or replace hoses altogether (be sure to turn the water off before removing hoses and drain them into a bucket after disconnecting them). 2) Determine whether machine is over-sudsing during wash loads-- this can cause the entire washing machine to overflow. Reduce suds by pouring a mixture of 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1 quart water into the washer. Then switch to less detergent or use a low-sudsing variety. 3) Call a repairperson. The machine may have a faulty basket gasket or tub seal and bearing that must be replaced.
