Broken plastic gear

you might be able to mill a workable replacement if the gear isn't overly detailed or fine toothed. Find some uhmw plastic, either buy the sheet or sometimes those nice white cutting boards are made of it. Cut the teeth out with a jig saw. either file out new engagement splines or two part epoxt the new gear back to the drive shaft.

When i stick my bike into forst gear, the clutch judders and vibrates like the gears are grinding together, ive taken the clutch off, replaced tge clutch and all it does is make loads of noise and no drive...

Gavin, several possibilities exist. Reply back with an answer; Is the juddering only in first gear? Does the bike shift easily going through all the gears? If the judder is only in first gear, the problem is either broken gear dogs on a slider gear or broken teeth on first gear. A bent shift fork is a possibility but if it shifts in and out of gears easily then that pretty much rules out a bent fork. If broken teeth are found to be the problem, replace both the broken gear AND any gear the broken gear engages with, even if the gear looks okay. If you don't replace the set, you get to re-do the repair when the mating gear drops some teeth, ( which will probably be right away ). If the judder is in all gears then the clutch plates could be hanging up on either the inner or outer hub or both. I have added a generic diagram to give you a visual of how the shifting works. One of the heater gears ( shield ) is continuously broken several times

take out the gear which drives the broken gear then replace the broken with a new gear, check manyally driving the gear,which part or gear causing resistance in the smooth operation, replace the faulty part/gear.lubricate moving parts.

My 02 Jeep Liberty is a Florida car. I have no heat at all. The blower works and the line under the hood seams hot through the fire wall. I'm sure the heat hasen't been used much. Is it possible that the...

I think your air temperature mode actuator is broken but your heater core could be plugged as well.
If one of the two coolant hoses going to the firewall in the engine compartment is significantly warmer than the other then your heater core is plugged and will need backwashed or replaced
It should be easy to check the mode actuator it is located behind the glove compartment and is retained by two screws. If you pull it off you will be able to see if it is broken or not. If you need more information please respond.
What the actuator usually does inside is this unit is a circuit board, motor and small plastic round gears. The gears then rotate the actuator, which in turn opens and closes the damper allowing the air to pass through the heater core.

What happens is some of the little teeth break off creating a gap on the gear wheel. This gap prevents the gears from driving the actuator shaft..

Got a 02' 125 ttr and it make a knocking noise in first gear? shifts fine and no other noise in other gears.

You have a broken tooth on the first gear set. This means two gears will need replaced; the drive gear and the driven gear in first gear range. DON'T just replace the gear with the broken tooth. Replace the gear it meshes with also.

Front panel temperature control switch

Very likely the blend door is broken. This door is mounted beside the heater core, blends cool air with hot depending on the position of the door. At the bottom of the door at the hinge point, there is a gear and coupling driven by an electric motor to position the door. The coupling is a drive much like a square drive ratchet and socket made of plastic and often cracks allowing the drive to turn without changing the door position. I've heard you can drill through the outer housing and put a screw in the door through the drive gear, but you would have to know your way around this area well.
I repaired mine by replacing the blend door, a big job at best. The entire dashboard must come out to access the top of the heater core housing which must be removed.

If paper stops just before entering the fuser (heat rollers), chances are they are not turning. You may have a broken gear or a drive clutch that is slipping badly. Usually those clutches need to be replaced by a technician.
