I have the same problem with mine what do i do

just push the button on cd tray... then the tray will open. if won't read then maybe your cd is damage or the cd drive got in trouble unable to read. try restarting your system.

The main problem might be a big problem with the disk tray. There might be an faulty wire that has lost connection and if your disk wont event turn on, there might be a problem with the power supply that supplies the cd tray. If the disk opens and closes but doesnt read and wont say tray is in and keeps saying open tray, there might be a small fracture on some of the wires or there is something wrong with the motherboard of the xbox 360. The best way is to buy the warrenty now and send it to the xbox 360.

Turn the computer off,Remove power cable.Use a peper clip insert it through a hole infront of the dvd drive this will eject the door.Make sure once this is opened the tray is aligned properly,slide it in and out.Push it in all the way then power up the computer.This may work for a while,before it goes again,so you might have to replace it.

i had the same problem with my xbox, i actually picked it up free because of that, when i got it home i tried cleaning the tray with the cd with little brushes on the bottom and that didnt do any good. i had to manually open the xbox 360 and then open the tray aswell, you can see on youtube how to open a 360 properly, its actually very easy, and then you actually open the tray and clean the laser eye with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol, its a few t9 screws to remove the xbox from the case and then 4 small star screws to open the tray and clean it, put it back together and it will run asgood as the day you bought it

Hi. this open tray code is caused by a failed limit switch that is responsible for sending a signal to the optical assembly, confirming that the tray is totally closed and ready to read the disk. this switch is part of the drive and, it is recommended to replace the DVD-ROM drive in this case.

i know its the tray belt.because,the same thing happened to me.my player would sometimes say error. or sometimes it would not read any cds.because,the tray would not close tightly.im shure its an easy fix.i did mine by my self.

i had the same problem. listen to your xbox cd rom and if you hear it start up and kinda skip or make a weird stopping sound then your disc drive/ cd-rom is wearing out. either send it in or do what i did and start by just giving the center to the center left above your cd-rom a nice few taps in a row while its spinning before it stops. fairly good knocks on the case will help it. i ended up really hittin mine a lot of time in row after about a month. sometimes it will put rings on your games thought but they buff out. i even took it apart but theres not much you can do

Had The Same With Mine. Its was the belt Inside that joins Motor To Cd Tray. Its Black and directly under the cd tray at the front. Its probably either loose like mine of maybe broken. I replaced mine with an elastic band and its been fine since.

It sounds like you have put a disc in the tray that the system can not read, so it will just keep trying to read the disc over and over again. If you turn everything off by the plug and wait a few mins the whole system should stop. Put the plug back in and as soon as you turn your system on, try and press the disc open key before the lens gets a chance to start reading it again. If this does not work you may just have a disc jammed. So you will have to get someone to check it out for you if you do not understand what you will be doing, because you may do more harm than good to your system. Good luck.
