These all indicate a bad motherboard. This is expensive and difficult. I found one here for $310. http://www.notebooksolutions.ca/zc/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=66_81&products_id=7348

My advice is take it to a repair shop.

HOW TO RESET BIOS PASSWORD ON A TOSHIBA SATELLITE LAPTOP L45 S7409 DO I FLASH THE BOARD OR PULL THE BATTERY OR BOTH. CAN I EVEN DO THAT? WHAT IF I PULL THE MEMORY OUT REMOVE THE HARD DRIVE AND THEN PUT...

Hi!
The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard. If you remove this battery, all CMOS information (including the BIOS password) will be lost. You will need to re-enter the correct CMOS setup information to use the machine.
Or you can try using a Backdoor BIOS password, these passwords are typically used for testing and maintenance. Manufacturers typically change the backdoor BIOS passwords from time to time. For Toshiba, you can try using Toshiba as the password. I hope that helps.

Where can I downloadToshiba Satellite L45-S7409 Data Recovery Boot CD for Windows 7? I upgrateed and now the laptop turns on, but no screen. Can you please send me a link? Thank you! Alex

Hi,
A recovery CD would contain a copy of windows, and therefor can not just be downloaded. You need to find the one that came with the pc, or see if there is an recover option when the pc boots e.g. F11 to recover.
Otherwise buy a new copy of windows :-(

Pull the hard drive, the data should be ok. You can take it to GeekSquad at Best Buy and theyll be able to help you out. Other wise go on ebay and buy a UBS adapter for your slim drive, plug it into a desktop and transfer files.

BIOS PASSWORD REMOVAL on a toshiba satellite L45 S7409

This link describes the bios password reset for various Toshiba models (it's at the top of the results list), hopefully this will help you take care of your problem.

I would also think that Toshiba support would be able to assist you with this should you call them.

I sent my laptop to Toshiba and they said they removed the 3rd party memory I installed (although I tried this prior to shipping). I didn't reinstall the memory and now it works fine.

Installation of Windows 2003 server in Toshiba Laptop

Change your boot order in the BIOS.

1. Turn on computer by Holding down power button while pressing the ESC key.
The machine will beep, then display:
Check System, then press [F1] key.
2. Release ESC key
3. Press F1 key

In the bios, go to the Boot tab, and make sure CD - DVD - or Optical Drive are the top of the list (see the legend at the bottom of your screen for what keys do what). Save and exit, then install your OS (save and exit is most often F10).
