Camera Won't Turn On

My Samsung Digimax D53 digital camera has stopped working. I've tried 3 different battery changes, Alkaline and non-Alkaline batteries. I've plugged it into the computer, but it still won't turn on. Any advice

Where can i find new samsung model: SNB-2312 batteries for my samsung Digimax D53 camera?

This camera takes AA size batteries, which can be rechargeable or just disposable Alkaline cells. You would have got a set of alkaline AAs with the camera, and when these expire, you just put in a fresh set, that you can buy anywhere. They don't need to be Samsung. DON'T use cheap zinc or "long life" AAs, though. They are not up to the task, and can leak and corrode your camera.

NiMH batteries with a capacity of 2700mAH are available, and these will last longer, per charge, than name brand alkalines, as well as being rechargeable. You can buy these with a charger fairly cheaply now (though they obviously cost more than disposables). You will probably want two sets, one to be on charge while you use the other.

Tip

Short battery life with AAs or camera won't even power up on new batteries?

Many digital cameras (eg Samsung D53, Nikon 2100) have extremely poor battery life with alkaline batteries (under 20 shots!). Sometimes they won't even take a single picture.

Try using rechargeable batteries or "oxyride" disposable batteries. They perform infinately better.

Samsung Digimax D53 Camera says low battery but just replaced with brand new ones. Camera beeps and shuts down immediately.

For digital cameras you should use either Rechargeable(whith high Ampere) or high performance alkaline batteries (ie. Lithium Duracel or Enegizer) normal alkaline batteries will not be able to charge the Flash. If you are useing high performance batteries then it is sadly your camera which is faulty. repairing it you could but it is cheaper to get a new camera.

Good luck!

Recently changed the battery and now everytime I shoot a picture the camera goes off and has to be re-powered back on to take another. Now, it won't power back on.

you need to check that you have put in the correct type of battery. Some cameras will only work with alkaline batteries.. I had this problem with my samsung when i inserted zinc batteries instead of alkaline, I use duracell cause they are pretty good for taking lots of shots before running out.

Camera wont turn on unless i take the batteries out

I tried alkaline batteries in this camera and it would only work for a few pictures, then it would go unstable and do unpredictable things. The lithium batterys also caused problems like the ones you described. As a last resort I found that there was a ni-mh battery for this camera. I could not find this accessory. I purchase some batteries and charger then installed them into camera. reset the camera using the reset function, then tested camera. It now works correctly and consistantly takes good pictures. If the camera does not work with the ni-mh batteries it might be damaged or bad.

Camera will not turn on

Are you sure the batteries are fully charged? I would suggest using rechargeable not alkaline batteries.
