Question about Samsung CXN2085TP 20 in. TV/VCR/DVD Combo
Ok, this is happening because the protection circuitry has sensed a major fault, likely to cause a fire, an explosion or both, and is shutting down the set for safety reasons. Have a look at that training manual, it will give you some insight.
So, it is nearly always my professional opinion that one should always get a "Quote" from the manufacturers recommended service center, I cannot stress how important that last point is. It is even worth the cost of shipping. you see an authorised service agent, will have trained staff, trained on their brand, also they have first hand access to parts, original parts. This will actually save you money and ensure you can actually get it back fixed. Of course asking for a "Quote" also gives on the option of repair or replace. Often my clients,do not go through with repair, unless it is moderate, but in some of the more costly jobs they see it, as do i, that a replacement, with a warranty, is a better option. As an aside here, one could then tear the TV down, and sell the Known Good bits. You'd be surprised who needs parts, i myself often must by from third party sources to effect a repair. So money could be recouped, somewhat, and help out someone else

SOURCE: Emerson TV won't stay on
Someone told me that the timing is off in the vcr and that they would have to rebuild the whole tv, which is more expensive than buying a new one. I saw on another site that someone has to leave a vhs tape in the vcr for the tv to work, I think that I am going to try that.

My LOEWE CAL 232 will not power up. When the power button is pressed, the monitor turns on, with the LOEWE on the monitor, then the TV continues with the previous activity (antenna, DVD, VCR etc.). Now all that happens is
1. the red light comes on
2.after about 1 second the green light turns on for about 12 seconds
3. the the green light turns off for about 1 second
4. then the green light turns on again for about 12 seconds
and this continues until the power button is pressed to turn the TV off. During this time, the monitor does not turn on and the only sound I hear seems to eminate from the power button.
