Try system restore to a point before you started getting blue screen.you may have got an update that conflicks with your networking. My sister had this problem with her desktop so I reformatted and reloaded the OS and it happened again when it got to a "D_LINK" update so I hid the update. She hasnt had any problems since then, that was about 8 months ago.

Need a reboot disk for compaq presario 1278 series cm2070 model 1456VQLIN does not have an OS

Most Compaq's come with what is known as "reimaging" or the OS already installed on a partitioned part of your harddrive (which is locked) unless you go in and have your computer do a System Recovery to factory settings...
Know that if this is your only option, then you will loose everything you have on your computer up until you got the error message...

Ok, first things first..
What were you doing before you got this error?
Are you able to boot to your start up screen and get to System Restore? If not and all else is lost, then follow the following instructions

1. Restart the computer "Press key, it's up above your 0 for recovery" message is displayed
on the screen. Then select Recovery Manager. Then your Recovery Manager will come up

2. Choose Advanced Options.
3. Choose System recovery, and then click Next. It will instruct you to reset your computer to Factory Settings...all you need to do is follow the Recovery Manager Wizard options and click next and next and so on... let me know if this works....

Compaq laptop wont go to password screen

You will need to boot the computer with a boot disk. If you do not have one that came with the computer, you will need to contact your manufacturer or the store where you purchased the computer and get one from them. A boot disk cost anywhere from $10-20. When starting the computer, have the boot disk in the drive and when the prompt asks where do you want to load from, select your DVD/CD drive.

1790: disk 0 error

Your hard drive has failed to load.In the bios did it show the hard drive? Can you hear the hard drive?Do you hear a clicking sound? The are signs that the drive is failing.Try to boot to a windows cd, see if this will allow you to see the hard drive. If you can chances are you might be able to get your data from the drive.Once you do so replace the drive.
Good luck

Wont boot up

try removing all cables connected to your tower, (including power cable, mouse, keyboard, VGA cable, scanner, printer, camera etc.)- then press the power button for at least 5 seconds, this is what we call POWER DRAIN, then try booting up your system again, if still unresolved, power off your tower, then open up your chassis, reseat the cables of your HARD DISK -- try again. if still unsolved, try entering the BIOS, check if the HARD DISK is detected..

Computer wont start-up

Hi,
If I get you right, after you plug the xternal drive to transfer some file, the system didn't come up. Right?
Well, let me assume yes. If that is the case, I will advise you to boot the system from an external disk and use it to scan the local hard disk for virus. After that, remove the x-hard disk and try to boot the system. If it doesn't work, then transfer all the files to the xternal hard disk and format the local hard disk for new use. Best of luck.
