SOURCE: I have a Alpine SWE-1000 subwoofer with no wiring diagram.

No i do not have a wiring diagram for this exact Speaker but this speaker is self powered yes?

This blue and white lead is your remote turn on lead, this allows the amplifier to switch on and off with the vehicle, instead of just being on all the time and drain your battery.
This wire should be spliced in to an accesory that turns on and off with the flip of the ignition switch. If you could It would be best to splice it to the radio turn on lead. On your radio, there is a lead that should be labeled remote if it is aftermarket. If it is stock then you have to use a volt meter and back probe a lead until you find one that switches on with the igrnition switch, you should get one with battery voltag(12v or more) and one a ground (.11) and one with battery voltage when on and no voltage when off(this is the one you want to splice in too.

Can I mix subs

You can, but if you wire them in parallel that is a pretty heavy load on your amplifier. It may even sound better to use one sub until you can get some more power behind them.

Rule of thumb, you can never have enough power! Check out my tips on wattage.

I would like know whether a sony xplod subwoofer can be connected to my alpine car audio system! xplod sub woofer is 1100 watts.

Deffinitely but wired directly would be pointless, the Alpine's internal amp is way to weak to get the best out of the sub. You need an amp, minimum 300w and bridge the outputs to give all the power to sub preferably switched to low-pass (most amps will have a high / low pass switch)

I just want to know how to open the speaker so I can look at the voice coil and see if I need to soldier the wires

You can access part of the voice coil through the dust cap, but I think the leads you are looking for are usually run along the "spider" of the sub and will require complete dis-assembly to get to their destination on the voice coil. It is not impossible and I have successfully done this repair many times. You can start by following the leads from the terminals along the "spider" to check continuity. After they disappear into the frame you will however need to remove the cone/coil assembly from the frame to gain access, let me know if you need further info, as I may have a diagram of your sub, so let me know what brand/model it is if you need more info.

I have this speaker and it dont work

You dont want to do any repair to that sub... take it to a trusted alpine dealer and see if it qualifies for warranty repair... unless you get a high end sub like orion hcca's or others of that quality you cannot repair them and should never attempt to... any repair you do to them will make them distort unless you have the proper tools and know-how to do it

Connect alpine 7874 to alpine powered sub

You need to run the RCA cables from the head unit to the sub for the audio signal, and possibly a turn on wire (the blue one on the back of the head unit), unless the sub has an automatic power feature.

The sub also needs power and ground wires attached, but those do not connect to the head unit. Power should be run directly from the battery with an inline fuse, and ground should go to the nearest good ground point (Trunk latch, seat bolt, etc).

Alpine sub pre outs

i know people dont like doing it this way but when in doubt, splice wires.

go to walmart and buy a crossover, splice your front or rear door speaker wire and wire in the crossover and also the door speaker. plug your RCA cables in and run them back to the amp.

most people with stock decks do this if they dont have sub out or amp out.

if u need more help let me know
