Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I have a computer that I built myself back in 2003. Over the years I sort of notice its peak and non-peak performance. Back in 2007 or either 2008 my power supply blew out on my old chassis, so I font remember what my configurations was on my old chassis, im I brought a new a chassis, so I don't remember if the computer was properly built or if I had the right drivers and configurations. So almost in a nutshell I notice that certain peices on my motherboard wasn't put together specifically my power btn, led gd led and reset button also the jump on the hard drive because I would always have to reboot my system to detect my hard drive, so that's one concern if I can get help configuring my cpu. Also I wanted to see if I installed the correct drivers for my devices inside my cpu I tried to install some drivers for my motherboard from the manufacturers website directly and had problems itself, so if possible I can get some assistance with that if possible have my computer running at optimal level.

Alright the first thing I wanna ask is would you be able to help me from the computer I'm having problems with, When you reply I can take another shot communicating to you from cell phone but I reached the page where I can reply to you on my cell and it wouldn't let me reply so I'm not sure if it was something I did that caused that or I cant do it at all. So I'll try again the manufacturer of the motherboard is asrock and the model is m266a the first revision dont know the number of hand. Something I forgot to tell you in the problem description was that I was trying to update whatever drivers I had on the PC already using a program called drivermax it updated my video driver sg3 i believe ddr and the **** messed my video up, so that is the perticular reason why I am trying to get help, but if you can help me get my computer to run at optimal performance that'll be great.

Almost I wont lie, I believe I have the cables and everything installed in correct because, the power led is on and the hd led is on. Also the bios or the motherboard detects the hard drive on the first boot so i believe it is setup correctly. Now is to assure that I have the right drivers and installing the right drivers, because as I stated I tried to install a couple of drivers i downloaded from the manufacturers website and I extract the drivers i click the driver setup, it unpacks, the problems come that the hour glass shows but nothing else happens.

First have to let me know the motherboard name so to get to the manufacturer site and download a user guide..manual ...there will be explained all the cables for the front panel ..
.but usually they are placed in a 13 24 57 68 ...formation ...and the numbering is made from the left side facing the pin plug ..with the margin down..the 1 will be on the margin (down ) 2 in the other sidetoward the middle of the board..3 near the 1 and so on ..practically zig zag ..this way will be one by one for ..
The main power connector ..will always be placed from the left case you get a 20 pin into a 24 plug ..
the jumpers for the bios in the 12 position if there are 3 of them ...and see cause it is written there the clear bios position ...the correct it is the other one ..
the Hdd itself ..if it is a Ide one have to look on its sticker cause it has a mapping for the master ..slave ..and cable positions..
if you use a ide ribbon ..and in the master position ..(first plug not middle )you have to set the jumpers of the hdd for master matter in what slot you plug it on the mother board..primary or secondary ..the issue is to select the pin settings according with the position on the cable ..(also written on the cable )
the rest ..just gets in their places..but I guess i will be looking for a scheme after all...
In regards the drivers have to download the drivers from the motherboard manufacturer just in case you use on board devices for sound and video ..if you have pci or agp have to use the driver disk that came with them or to see the name written on them ..and look on their manufacturer site..(in accord with the operation system for each )
if you had issues with the drivers the problem was either devices bought separately and not on board..or the operation system chosen in the wrong way ..
so ..for better guidance ...if this will not make light ..gibe me the motherboard name...and if you have sound and video card ..separately ...their name too..
specify what operation system you intend to use..
and for any other devices you use on it and not have a driver let me know..and specify the exact name ..
I guess this covers all for now..the fisr issue is to locate a user manual if you do not have one ..for the motherboard ..if you do have there will be the all the mapping for cables by one ..with name and numbers and the position number ..

OK it is up to the drivers now...I also say to f...k the driver guide you mentioned cause all automatic stuff are not accurate cause they guide after the digital signing of the device ..and it may be the same part installed on different devices..
so ...tell me if the sound and video card s are on board ..or separate in pci slots..if they are let me know their names too and exact model ..(it is written on the each card ) if they are on board will fit the drivers from the manufacturer..
remember that in cases like this ..for old computers..the updates are not always the greatest thing ...cause they may function on different bases..use another ram memory ..and so on ..
for the actual cpu do not need a driver cause if you reinstall the windows..the drivers are in the operating system for Xp and above,,
all you will need is the vga driver ..if it is on board video card ..and sound driver ..and I think you use an AC97 for this model ..but I will take a look .
So ..remember ..the manufacturer first release in the matter of drivers are the best choice them and use them ..I will get back with links after you answer about the sound and video card ..
By the way be sure what kinda driver need...install the operation system from scratch..using a boot able disk ..and format the C partition during ..(delete ..create and format it again ) this way you assure the most accurate functioning ...
after installing take a look in the device manager to see what drivers you really need..
to go there right click on my computer /properties/hardware /and device manager ,,there will be all you have installed..and all that you need to will be in yellow..
I recommend windows Xp ..cause it is the fastest and the most reliable on the market ..

this are the best drivers for windows Xp you will ever find ..if the devices you use are on board ..if you put something on a video card or sound card ..use teh drivers from the disk that came with them..
but after you said about the S3 vga driver ..I recognized the name of the usually installed video cards on board I guess you have all on board ..and this is a good thing if you do not try to use it for complex video programs or games...Im using actually kinda same configuration (on board cards) in a self made computer ..and Im doing all I need with it ..with no problems..and it is about the same age..:D and I still do not feel any need to change it ...just upgraded Ram memory to be faster ..
so ..if you need a good Xp disk to reinstall it ..use this one ..cause it is free and it is seen as genuine and update sto sp3 with no sweat ..
(you need a torrent download program and Nero 7 to burn it ..cause it is an image ..file ..jst double click on the image file and it will open automatically with Nero and make a bootable disk ..if you insert a blank CD-R} I tested it ..and the key is in the folder..

these are the programs you will need to download that file ..and than to burn the disk the way remember .install Nero if you do not have it ..(replace the key in Nero ) and do not open Nero to burn ..just insert the cd ..shut off all prompts ..than just open the actual image file by double clicking ..This will make it boot-able ...than just set to boot from CD first in the Bios..and go for it ..
the drivers are all that you need ..and if you have any issues after the installation will be OK ..
also make sure to use at least a free anti-virus..I will go for AVG free 9 ..and put the average protection ..never had problems with this one .. 7.rar

Restricted performance issue with jaguar S-type 2003 V8

Check the Catalytic Converter. They get plugged up and cause excessive back pressure, resulting in basically choking your motor, and not letting air OUT, so it cant produce horsepower.

Is a 2003 Dodge Neon 2.0L an interference engine

Your 2.0L is an interference engine. Since this engine is "SOHC" the timing belt will be easier than the larger 2.4L DOHC engine. When you are ready to perform the repair, please consider buying the timing belt kit. It includes a new water-pump and belt tensioner. If you have any other questions, feel free to write back. Please let me know how the repair goes, good luck.

I just bought a canon Gl2 camera used on Ebay. I did the routine check, and everything seemed cool. I messed around with the zoom, and noticed that when I zoom in, at about 50 percent, it gets really...

This happens when the internal focus lens is off track, usually caused by impact and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it’s not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I’m a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I’m semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

The power band is the point wheneverything is nominal and and peak performance is realized. The air/ fuel ratio , timing, rpms It's mor predominant and noticeable in a motorcycle because of handling and weight All engines have them and these "power bands are really the peak of what s also called the torque curve Band meaning sp[ecific point and duration everything is working together. a gas lawn mower engine is set up to run inside this band. Thats why it doesn't fall on its fsce on the first patch of grass.
A diesel engine has a specific rpm range it has to maintain under load to get nominal horses.. If everything is functioning at nominal, max power is put out. Surprisingly enough it can be felt in all engines if paid attention . That's all it is, no special "bands" or parts. Knowing where the power band(range is makes a big difference on any machine. On an electric motor peak torque is @ let's say 1850 rpms. go faster useless lower toyque. go slower power drops To keep the range of the power band constant. everythinhg needs to be constant, like fuel mix, spark plug condition ,air filter andcarb adjustments.. I had a bike I hate and feared the power band. I would fall into it not paying attenyion and it would litterally crawl out from under me. All it is is that narrow band of peak performance..

Replace the cat you have ran it for years with a bad 02 sensor so now replace it and you will get better performance and better gas miliage. Never run a check engine light fo a long time it's telling you something is wrong. youer lucky you did not destroy the engine.

The sensors on your car check how your car is running by sending electrical signals to your cars computer. The computer then adjust the performance of the car by sending a signal back to the sensor. The sensor then adjust mechanically the fuel and air ratio of the fuel system for peak performance.
