Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
Hi, I start playing the on the lft side of the power switch a half of a red ligh starts blinking, the fan starts kicking on then it shuts down? Whats causing this.
Two possibility , first the 1of the heat sinks may have lost it's thermal seal
to the chips ie G.P.U. or C.P.U. this is more common when consoles
are played vertically . Second but less common the G.P.U. temp feed
connection has become intermittent and tripping a thermal shut down.
Remove heat sinks for G.P.U. and the C.P.U clean off the old heat sink
compound and replace with new ( articsilver 5 ).
If the console still over heats ( two red lights) then the G.P.U C.P.U
will need to be re-flowed back to the board that normally corrects
the problem in 90% of over heating problems.
