Question about Grohe 32 999 KD0 Alira Pull-Out Spray Kitchen Sink Faucet, Stainless Steel

1 Answer

Valve in Grohe kitchen faucet stop functioning. First hot flow was reduced when handle in hot position, while cold was normal. Then all flow reduced to a trickle in hot or cold position. I believe that water input to faucets is OK. All other home fixtures have normal flow and temperature.

It sounds to me like sand or buildup in the cartridge. You should pull the faucet apart and clean the cartridge.

Testimonial: "I think that you're correct. Later I read Grohe's recommended cartridge replacement every 2-3 year. Seems excessive, but will replace it. Thanx."

Grohe kitchen faucet. I have good flow on cold water, but virtually none for hot water in Grohe bridgeford kitchen single faucet, is this a cartridge problem or worse?

try looking at the service valves located under the sink, the screwdriver slot should be in line with the flow of water, but some times the valve appears to work but it may have jammed shut even though it is in flow position, replacement is straightforward ,make shore the water is shut off elsewhere before removal.

hi, the fault is probably from a tempering valve, on the inlets (hot and cold feeds to the tempering valve) there are little filters that block up easily undo the connections to the tempering valve remove the filters and clean them

wow... I wish you hadn't gone thru the expense of replacing the faucet... it's perfectly good... your problem was the aerator, it unscrews at the tip of the water spout and had collected too much sediment which eventually blocked water flow. Often happens quickly after your water is shut off at the main valve. Aerators cost about 50 cents...

grohe is a faucet all by itself ,,, I would recomend to have you call there repair dept. and explain this to them, you said you put in the new cartridge and thats about all there is to it, when you put on the handle make sure it is not over tightened, sometimes it pulls on the cartridge and makes it come on by itself good luck

There is a flow restrictor in the faucet. You have a very common complaint for these faucets. The restrictor will be shown in the owners manual. Remove the restictor. If you don't have the owner manual, work cautiously and take notes/pictures.

Low pressure and flow on hot water side of single handle faucet

It could be one of two problems, one simple, one serious.
  • Easy fix
  1. Turn off hot water angle stop under sink to faucet.
  2. Remove supply line from hot angle stop.
  3. Place end of supply line in a small bucket to catch some water.
  4. Turn on cold water for a couple of seconds and backflush debris from faucet.
  5. Reconnect supply line.
  6. Turn on angle stop and test
  • Complex fix
If you have steel pipes you may be experiencing reduced flow due to corrosion in your pipes. Reduced hot water pressure in the kitchen faucet is usually the first sign since this is the faucet that is most used in the home.

Repiping is a job for a professional. Another symptom you may need a repipe is orange colored or rusty water.
