Question about Philips Magnavox 20MS3442 20" TV
There are two possibilities for said problem.
Either remote is defective or remote sensor in tv got bad.
You can test remote easily with help of any digital camera or even mobile phone camera will do the job. Watch remote front through digital camera and press few buttons on tv remote, you will observe infra red led blinking on remote front. That will confirm that remote is working and problem is with remote sensor that is mounted in front of tv.
If infra red led does not blink while watching remote through digital camera that means remote is defective, buy another remote.
Hope this info will help you.
