The top thread is loose and the bobbin thread is pulling the top thread down

Always thread the machine with the presser foot up and see if this eliminates the problem.

Sounds opposite of the problem, but it is very important to do this to assure the tension control can keep the top thread at the correct tension to form a proper stitch.

If the machine is threaded with the presser foot down, the tension control is closed and the thread cannot seat into the control as it should.

How to adjust lower tension bottom bobbin elna junior sewing machine passap?

On any machine, the lower - bobbin tension is adjusted with a small screw driver, used on the very small screw on the side of the bobbin. "Righty, tighty, Lefty - Loosy." If you stitch an inch of fabric, and the bottom loops come up, then... tighten the bobbin holder. If the loops pull down, loosten it.

If it is your top thread looping then the top thread is too loose and you need to tighten the top tension. Usually the higher the number the tighter the thread. If it is the lower thread looping to the top then try loosening the top thread first by lowering your tension number. If this doesnt work then depending on whether or not you have a separate bobbin case, which has a small flat screw 3-4mm diameter which can be turned by the flat of your thumbclockwise to tighten, if looping and anticlockwise to losen. Normally only the top tenison needs to be fiddled with. If you have to change the lower(bobbin) then one way of checking a good tension is to let the bobbin drop whilst holding the thread and it should drop comfortably with a small pull on the thread a little bit like operting a yoyo:)

Top tension has to be turned all the way down to get good stitch, then thread gets caught in bobbin and lower hooping on thread..

Grab some scrap fabric of the same type you'll be sewing. Tighten your top tension and test sew until you see until you see the top thread of a seam go like a straight line and the bobbin thread loops on top of the seam. Then back off of the top tension until those loops disappear.

If you never see it the top thread go like a straight line... your top tension needs to be cleaned... and make sure you have the pressure foot UP when you thread the upper thread.

The lower thread is getting tangled. I have changed the bobbin, re-wound the bobbin thread again, taken the bobbin out and cleaned the bobbin case.

Incorrect threading of the top thread can also cause lower loop tension problems. As can the wrong size or blunt needle. Try re-threading top thread first.

Kenmore Sewing Machine Drop-in Bobbin Tension Adjusting Problems

looped stitches are usually caused by improper tension. when the loop is on the upper side, it may be corrected by loosening the top tension or by tightening the lower tension (turn the tension screws on the bobbin a hair at a time)

since using the machine only a few times it is best to clean the machine from dust (can use a can of air) blow air into the bobbin area and between the tension disks and under the throat plate.

make sure the machine is threaded correctly and bobbin is evenly threaded
