Question about Spa Parts Plus FLOW SWITCH, Q12DS, FOR 3/4 TO 1-1/2-In. - Q12DS/3/3/4S/1

1 Answer

I turned on my hot tub today and the digital control display simply reports "FLO" and the pump does not appear to be functioning properly. Is this a broken part of is there air in the line perhaps? Any possible solutions would be great thanks.

That code is for a low flow. It may be the pressure switch not sensing the water flowing in the tub. Or the flow is indeed low. You can observe the actual flow yourself.
If the pump is not pushing enough water , then that could be the cause of the code.

Aqua Flo Flo Master won't start on low speed

Water flow error on hot tub means low water flow. This is not enough water flow to turn the system on.
Some motors do have a start capacitor on them. you can certainly check that or take it to your local motor repair shop and they can check that for you.

I was told that the Aqua Flo Master Xp2 Spa pump 1.5 hp 2 speed pump was the equivalent to the Sta rite Max E Pro 2 speed pump but then from another source was told that the Aqua Flo was not made for in...

I responded to the previous question in regards to the motor only. The xp2 does not have the strainer basket that the max-e-pro has . If this was a regular hot tub, the xp2 would work great, if this is above ground, then you do need a pump with a strainer basket. Again the xp2 will not work for an inground hot tub as the set up is different than an above ground unit.

I just bought my hot tub, it shows ''FLO'' on the panel when i turn it on. I did every thing they say on the panflet but it still doesn`t work. Anything else i should do??

The problem is that the flow switch for your water heater is indicating no flow. Therefore your water heater will not operate. Without proper water flow your heater will burn up. Check that your valves are open. Check that your pump is running. Check that your filters are properly installed and not restricting flow. Check the wiring to your flow switch and make sure the flow switch operating properly (i.e. put a ohm meter across the contacts and see if you have continuity when the switch closes).

Have hot tub with Spabuilders heating unit not functioning and getting two messages (1) FF 04 & (2) Fd 02

FF 04 and FD 02 might not be error codes.

In the UK, 'FD' stands for either 'Filtration Duration' or 'Filtration Delay'. As I'm not in the office right now I don't have a manual at hand.

Why isn't the hot tub functioning correctly??

Common Spa Builders (Gecko) error messages are, OHH, FLO, FLC, Sn1 and Sn2. Also they have three flashing dots which can appear on the display.

Hot tub pump flo-master hp suddenly wont start. it' one year old and was working perfectly. air side started to make a squealing noise the night before. draining hot tub to check volute to make sure motor...

The fault is most likely to be the condensor. They can and do fail at an early age.

You don't need to dismantle the pump, on the rear of the pump you'll find a slot on the motor shaft which can be turned with a screwdriver.

If you've only just reffiled the hot tub it could also be an airlock.

Get Flo Message frequently and sometimes FIL2 message.

FLO is related to either a dirty filter or a clogged suction to the pump or possibly a pump related fault. FIL2 is the code displayed when programming the 2nd Filtration Cycle.

Qca Spa pumps and blower will not come on, water down to 35º f

Ken,

You need to contact a hot tub technician/engineer as you clearly have issues.

'ICE' means that the water temperature is too low and therefore the pumps will be turned on to prevent freezing within the plumbing. Depending upon the spec and settings, the heater maybe disabled during 'ICE' condition.

'ECON' is Economy Mode. If you have a mode button, keep pressing it until you see 'Stan' on the display. This will put the system back into the standard mode.

'FLO' means that there's insufficient flow of water through the heater, or non at all. 1) Check the water level - top up if low. 2) Ensure that all jets are open and flow water - if they don't you may have a pump issue. 3) Remove the filter(s) and see whether or not this clears the fault, if so clean or replace the filters.

'COOL' is displaying because the set temperature is much higher than the current water temperature.

As I mentioned at the start, you really should get someone to take a look at your hot tub. You may have a few issues that need resolving.

Regards,
Ian.
