Question about Estate TEDS740JQ Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Estate Dryer Model TEDS680EQ1

My estate electric dryer has been working fine until yesterday
March 24, 2008 when it stopped during a normal drting cycle.
The air was hot when it stopped.
I have checked the following :
All controls
door switch
fabric/ temperature slector
start/ end of cycle button
Today removed back panel from controls and checked all connections.
All good. Removed back panel from dryer checked thermostate and heater box connections, all good.
Removed top of dryer and front panel and checked connections and belt,
all seemed to be in good working order.
Drum turns freely. Did not check actual motor other than turning of the drum.
Please make suggestions before we go purchase a new dryer.
Thank you for your help

Dryer stop working has power going to all parts

Check the continuity of the thermal fuse, often the culprit. Also check the power relay. Sorry but I am not familiar with the Estate dryers. But the above are two common problems in a wide variety of electric dryers.

Whirlpool estate electric dryer model teds680eq1 starts spins heats up then quits 15 minutes later

The operating thermostat has probably failed. When the dryer haets up, it gets too hot and the high limit thermostat turns the machine off. After it cools down, it will start, again.

I have a Whirlpool Estate dryer Model TGDS840PQ0. During auto sense, the timer will not move. But during a "time dry" session, the timer seemse to work just fine. Any ideas?

in auto the timer will not move if there is no heat, when the heat stops the timer moves, heat comes on timer doesn't move, when it's on auto make sure power is going down to the heating system, next time send model number and if it's gas or electric, good luck

There should be a nameplate along the door opening. This is normally where Whirpool puts their information. Just open the door and look along the door or door frame opening. The nameplate data can also be located along the back of the operator console on some models. Let me know if you still can't find it. I hope this helps.
