The compressor quit working under normal use.

The 3A fuse was blown. Replaced the fuse and continues to blow immediately upon powering up the compressor. What is causing the fuse to blow?

More than likely the motor is shorted internally

Every time I connect my Campbell & Hausfeld fp200300av Compressor and push the power on, the fuse blows. Even if I disconnect the motor from the circuit board, new fuses continues to blow. Then I extracted the Rectifier-diode (the black and square with a hole electronic with four stands part).
This piece was the reason of the short circuit, I replace it with an equivalent one, because I have not found one with the same shape, was tricky to me to attach the new piece into the right holes in the circuit board. After this operation my compressor is working flawlessly again!

Why does the fuse immediately blow on my power door locks? how to fix this?

You have a short somewhere in the system. Maybe one of the lock actuators or a switch. To test disconnect all locks and switch then replace fuse if don't blow start with driver door and reconnect lock check fuse see if it blew if not reconnect switch active lock check fuse see if ok. Continue with each door separate using same steps until fuse no good you will have found short. Replace shorted part.

GE Advantium 120 SCA1000DWW03 blowing 20amp fuse

Our unit was doing the same thing,
took it into the repair shop, they said there was nothing wrong with the unit, replace the main breaker that supplies power to microwave and try again.
Sure enough the breaker became defective, and we never had issues with it before, but now the unit has not had a single problem.

Suddenly microwave stopped working

(would really like more info- digital number dead as well?)

(assuming completely dead) Could be a couple of things:
- blown fuses (inside, relatively easy to replace, std size avail at Raioshack) <-- most likely
- cut/loose power cord connection inside.
- (unlikely but worse case scenario) Door was closed crooked- one tong hit one door switch before the other- causing a short circuit internally that "self destructs" the microwave to prevent it ever operating with an open (or even crookedly ajar) door, irradiating any users. Typically it just blows the fuses, but if fuses blow immediately upon replacing and turning power on, then possibly one of the switches fused or melted internally, and needs to be replaced.

2003 chevy s10 - keeps blowing out AC fuse. Will work for a couple minutes then compressor quits working. Check the fuse, it is blown out. Put in a new fuse, works a couple minutes, then quits, fuse blown...

Unplug the a/c compressor, there will be a plug near the pulley. Install a new fuse. Start the vehicle and turn the a/c on. Wait about the same amount of time it took for the fuse to blow in the past. Did the cues blow? If no replace the a/c compressor, the clutch has gone bad. If yes, than the wiring between the fuse and the relay or the relay to the comps sore is grounded. A careful inspection of the wiring should reveal the problem.

None of the power windows work

Hello Jstefan68,
Check the power window fuse in the under-hood power distribution center (fuse box) It should be a red 50A fuse in the corner, position #12. (See Image, taken from www.wjjeeps.com)

  • Turn off the car and remove the keys.
  • Remove the fuse and examine it.
  • If it is blown, Goto your local auto parts store and buy the replacement.
  • Install the replacement, enjoy the windows.

  • If it is not blown, or blows again immediately upon installation, you will have to perform several more checks (continuity, ground, etc.) If you are not handy, find someone who is, or take it to a shop as this is a long process...

Best of luck!

Lighter quit working

Hello...

Lighters quit working normally due to a blown fuse for the Lighter circuit. Check the fuse. If the fuse blows immediately after replacing it then you have a short in the circuit that needs to looked into.

Hope this helps....

AR1 Subwoofer Keeps Blowing the 5 Amp Fuse

Well, so far so good. I reinstalled the newly repaired amp and fired it up and so far, so good. Ran it through about an hour of fairly intense break-in tracks and then ran it through about 2 dozen power up and down cycles to try to get it to fail (better now than a month from now and have to fight them on backing it up).

The conector for the a/c compressor comes with a diode that keeps power from returning after the compressor cycles off. Check or replace the connector/and or diode and see if that fixes the problem

Sylvania 6632 LG blows fuse when plugged in

I too had this problem. I read some posts on this site about how to repair it, and low behold, they worked! I took the back off of the TV, and the first thing I found was the fuse was blown. With my meter, I checked the first 1N5406 rectifier diode after the fuse, and found that it had shorted out. Then I had to learn to desolder the diode, which I learned about on Youtube. I bought a pair replacement diodes at Radioshack for $1.49 and four replacement 125 volt 4 amp fuses. The whole repair cost about $5.00 and a few hours about learning about electronics. The TV works great! Good times!
