My speaker sound comes out very "fuzzy". Best way to describe the sound is a very "electronic, slow sounding" It is not a hardware issue because a friend of mine was able to fix it but only temp. How do I fix this problem. Is a virus causing disruption of my sound?

Try going to your start menu, then click on "Run". Once there, type msconfig. Once the new window pops up, click on the startup tab. Browse through there for an ATI Hotkey Poller, or something like that. If it is there, uncheck it, click apply, then OK. Click ok on the prompt to restart. Once back into windows the issue should go away. If that doesn't work, it could be your hard drive dying. Lot's of times the first sign of a hard drive dying is sound issues or jumpy mouse.
Let me know if I can help further.

My sound is real funny like chipmunk sounds

If the pitch of the sound being played by your computer speakers has changed dramatically or songs and videos are playing faster or slower than they typically should be, the problem is with the sound speed on your computer. This could mean a hardware issue with your speakers or sound card or a software issue with the program that you're using to play a digital media file.

Double-check your speaker connections. If one of the audio cables that runs off of your speakers isn't plugged correctly into your computer, this could cause the audio coming from them to speed up or slow down. Make sure all cables are properly connected to their proper inputs and try to play your audio again. Update the driver for your computer's sound card. Go to the website of the company that made your sound card and look for your unit's product page. Under the "Support" section, click on the download link for the latest device driver. Once the file is on your computer, double-click on it to install it. Then restart your computer and try to play your audio again. Make sure you haven't accidentally sped up or slowed down the media file you are trying to play. Many digital media programs like iTunes or Windows Media Player have features that allow you to play a song or video in slow or fast motion. If this becomes accidentally selected, the audio will also be in slow or fast motion. Click "Stop" to stop your media file from playing and then click "Play" again to allow it to play normally. Restart your computer. This will free up system memory when your computer restarts. If your sound was playing too slow or too fast due to an error with not having enough memory to play properly, that error will now be fixed and your sound should return to normal speed. Hope this helps.

Inspiron E1505 Sound levels are very low and distorted. Can the sound card be replaced? How do I determine wether it is a hardware, software, or cpu issue?

if the sound is very low & distorted, then that is a hardware sound issue. Sound card can be replaced by calling your pc provider. CPU issues can occur if you experience slow pc performance. If there are error messages coming from windows, that is a software issue.

When playing music of cds or dvds or on internet he sound seems to be a bit fuzzy or slows down

Try using external speakers first. this will tell you if the laptop speakers (never the best) are failing. If you get clear sound on externals, this is the problem.
If you still get the problem, then the issue is with the sound chip or a damaged sound driver
Try downloading the latest sound driver for the laptop and OS, if that fails, you may need to look at getting an external sound card.

The only other thing that springs to mind here, and notably if you get the problem whilst on the internet, is that the RAM in the laptop is being stretched, if you are using Vista or Windows 7 and have less then 1GB, I'd consider installing more ram and then fragmenting the hard drive / deleting garbage files to give the laptop some "fighting room" to run applications

I have a RZC 298W RCA FM/AM tuner/stereo amplifier that I cant find anywhere. It works ok, except its fuzzy. I'm Just curious about schematics and what year it is. it looks like its at least 40 years old....

You could contact a tv repair shop, many shops have schematics that go back many years. You say the sound is fuzzy, is this fuzzy sound when your playing the radio or when you play something throgh the amplifer? If its fuzzy with any source the you might have a bad speaker or speakers. you need to be more discriptive of the fuzzy sound you describe. also. if this unit has a head phone jack, (which I doubt if its 40 years old). you could plug in some head phone and see if the sound is clear there, if so then you know its most likely the speakers.

Our notebook sound is gone. but when we connect external speaker then sound come so please solve the driver problems as soon as possible.

if you sound comes on when external speakers are plugged in chances are its not a driver issue you internal speakers could be blown if they were blown you would still hear distorted sound coming from them
is you internal speakers on mute? or maybe on really low volume
you can also go into my computer right click on background hardware tab device manager
and if you dont see anything with yellow question marks over it its not a driver issue
im almost certain its a volume issue with your internal speakers

check for the connections! unplug and plug then back! test it! if it still have the same problem then it might be at the circuitry already! maybe some electronic components were busted or malfunctioned already!
