Question about Acer Aspire 3680 Laptop
The suggestions in the manual may not help. Go to the Acer site and make sure that you have the latest audio driver. There is considerable chatter in the forums about unsatisfactory volume in that model.
The manual may be downloaded at: http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/manuals/acer/0000/userguides/AS5600_3680_UG.pdf
The manual gives the following answer:
No audio is heard from the computer. Check the following: • The volume may be muted. In Windows, look at the volume control (speaker) icon on the taskbar. If it is crossed-out, click on the icon and deselect the Mute all option. • The volume level may be too low. In Windows, look at the volume control icon on the taskbar. You can also use the volume control buttons to adjust the volume. See "Hotkeys" on page 30 for more detail. • If headphones, earphones or external speakers are connected to the lineout port on the computer, the internal speakers automatically turn off.
