F12 isnt an easy code to diagnose. It means the mcu isnt communicating with the ccu.
The problem could be the door lock or either board. I would recommend calling a tech out.
It is similar to the F11 error - see the following.....

"F11" is a Serial Communications error between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and Motor Control Unit (MCU). The CCU is the main computer for the washer and is located directly behind the wash tub. The MCU is the Drive Motor Control board and is located in the rear of the washer adjacent to the Drive Motor on the left-hand side (facing from the rear with the back panel removed). The wiring harness can also cause the error, but it is not as common a problem.

Whirlpool is the manufacturer of both model washers and recommends the following troubleshooting advice. Remove the top panel of the washer by removing the three screws holding it in place in the rear. Once the screws are removed, the panel slides back, then off. Remove the rear panel of the washer for access to the drive motor and MCU. Now check the following:

- Check the wire harness connections between the CCU, the MCU and Drive Motor. Make sure all connections are attached and making good contact. Check for any broken wires or connector pins.
- Check the Drive Motor to see if it free spins and that the belt is still attached and not slipping. If the motor is seized, replace it. If the belt is broken or worn, replace it as well.
- Check the MCU. Connector 1 is the Serial Communications Link between the MCU and CCU. Connector 2 is the connector to the drive motor. Resistance checks across pins 1, 2, & 3 are the motor windings. Connector 3 is the power supply - 120VAC should be read across pins 1 and 2 with the door in the locked position. NOTE: The connectors are read 1, 2, and 3 from the bottom to the top with the MCU installed.
- Check the CCU. Verify connectors 7 and 11 are properly installed. Facing from the front of the washer, connector 7 is the 4th connector from the RIGHT along the front. This is MCU Power. Connector 11 is the Serial Communications link from the CCU to the MCU and is located along the left hand side of the CCU (the connectors are numbered 11 through 14 back to front).
- Check the Drive Motor. Remove the connector and perform resistance checks on the motor connector pins. Readings across pins 1 to 2, 2 to 3 and 1 to 3 should read 6 ohms.

In most cases this is an indication of a failed CCU. This is an easy repair that the average do-it-yourselfer can accomplish on their own. If the washer is still under a warranty, parts and labor would be covered. With no warranty, a replacement parts will vary in price depending on where you get them. There are several good websites available that you can order parts on line and have shipped directly to you.

NOTE: Remove all the connectors from the CCU ONE AT A TIME and reconnect to see if the error code goes away BEFORE you decide to purchase a new one. It is not common, but sometimes a flaky connection can generate error codes.

Assuming you cleaned the pump strainer?

Likely the drain hose leading from the pump to the drain, the section

inside the cabinet that "u-turns" back down is plugged up with

junk.. I had to remove the hose from the machine and force water

thru it at a outside faucet to clear what looked like a turd from the

inside of the drain hose..My shop vac could not dislodge it..

Water in dishwasher, will not pump out. Noise when machine is turned on

Hi

Dishwasher not draining issue usually occurs due to kinked drain pipe, clogged drain filter or drain pump. Check the drain hose for any visible clogging, remove if present. If no visible lint is present then remove then turn off the dishwasher and remove the drain hose and check for any visible clogging. If still not visible then the drain filter or drain pump is clogged and you'll need to clean the drain filter and drain pump. Also, check for any food pieces stuck near the pump impeller.
Please note that dishwashers don't drain out the complete water such that heating element doesn't overheat.

Hope this helps... Please post back for any further assistance.

What does f12 mean on a hotpoint aqualtis washing machine aqxxd 169pm

Hi, I think the F12 Error means lack of water or water turned off, check that first, if water is turned on then turn it off disconnect the hose from the machine, then hold the hose in a bucket and gently turn on the hose tap to check if water does flow, if it does check the valve on the back of the machine, there is usually a small filter in there that can get blocked, these can be pulled out by a small tab on top of the filter using a pair of pliers, clean it and then put it back in reconnect the hose and turn the water back on, try the machine again, if its still the same it could be a faulty water valve that will need replacing.

There is another reason F12 could appear which is a faulty PCB or wiring harness fault, but generally the above should be checked first.

Here's a picture below showing an example of the valve with the filter in blue, you might just be able to see the tab on the filter.

Hope this helps.

All cycle lights flash and then the machine stops. I tried turning of and unplugging, tried the switch on/off circuit. Pretty much tried everything. How do I reset my Miele G2140 dishwasher?

Hi there,

Well first of all you can check that the stopcock is opened fully or whether the water inlet hose is kinked. Check that the water inlet filter is not clogged and clean it, if necessary, as described in the operating instructions. Check that the drain pump is not clogged.

Reset the error message as follows: To cancel the error message, turn the rotary selector switch to "Stop/End" or press the "Start/Stop" switch for approx. 5 secs. Then switch the appliance off and then back on again.

Good Luck!!

Thanks

OE error message washer fills with water then just makes a grinding noise.

It is a long drain error. The washer is not fully drained after 10 minutes of draining. Remove the cabinet cover and check the following:

  1. Drain pump filter The filter maybe clogged with foreign objects, clean it. If the filter is damaged, foreign objects may get into the pump impeller and clog it. Keys, coins and pins in the impeller maybe causing the noise.
  2. Drain hose The hose maybe frozen, kinked, twisted or crushed. Repair or replace if necessary.
  3. Connector The connector may disconnected or disassembled. Reassemble or repair if necessary.
  4. Drain pump coil
Check pump coil resistance between the terminals using an ohmmeter. Resistance should be between 10-20 ohms. If the resistance is too high or too low, replace the drain pump.
  5. Voltage Check the voltage between the connector in step 3 during spin. The voltage should be 120Vac, else replace the main board assembly.
Regarding the grinding noise, run the machine while the cabinet cover is open and check or observe where is the noise coming from. If it is coming from the motor:
  1. Check if the bolts are loosened. Re-tighten it loose.
  2. Replace the motor stator and rotor assembly if still noisy.

My kenmore elite he3t showed an error code f02, i unpluged it and plugged in back in i tried to run a drain/ spin and the machine make a strange noise i suspect the motor filter is clogged and the moter is...

If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and F02 is flashed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

NOTE: After 4 minutes the “Sud” error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Potential Causes

• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked
• Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
• Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects
• If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump

***You stated that there was a noise when you started a manual drain. This may be a damaged drain impeller. in this case, replace the entire pump(drain).
