Audi A6 2007 Sirus Satelite Radio How do I activate it?

I purchased an OEM sirus satelite radio for my A6 2007 Audi. I have it installed but control panel does not recognize it. How do I get it to activate?

This does not make sense due to the fact that the Radio came from Audi. It was orderd and sent to me from Audi for this vehicle.

The radio is nstalled properly. I am told an Audi dealers will kick start it. What does this mean? Why can I not do that? Is special equipment needed? It seems to me a way to get me into Audi to charge me for something I can do. The car is prewired for satelite radio. I just need to get the car to recognize I have put in the satelite radio.

When I click on the satelite button in the car the control panel reads radio not installed. The car is prewired for the radio and it is installed properly. The radio is installed properly, however something, not sure what has to be done so the car will recognize the radio. At that point the satelite Id number will appear for me to call Sirus to activate. I need the cat to recognize that the satelite radio has been installed. I think an Audi technican that has activated on of these needs to advise what is necessary for the car to accept the satelite radio.

Activation of a Sirius Satellite radio refers to dealing with your Sirius service provider and setting up a monthly or yearly account subscription. Service providers are regional, meaning there will be one or more Sirius service providers that provide subscription and access in your part of the world.

This is a good place to start:

I hope that helps.

Usually all you have to do is contact Sirius radio, give them the ID number of your unit, and then pay to have the service turned on. The only thing that might be a problem with your situation though is whether Audi has some kind of a special contract with Sirius regarding the initialization of their radios. Failing that, as long as you have the serial number and ID number of the receiving unit (both should be on a panel on the back or bottom of your radio), Sirius should have no issues with initialization.

Chances are the Audi dealer has a special toll free number, and they can probably get the radio up and running quicker than you. Frankly though it's never taken me more than 5 minutes to get a satellite receiver up and running. Good luck on this and I hope you can get it up and running quickly.

I think you should carry out a thorough check on the wiring installation of your unit, there is a problem with the installation ,not from the unit, please ensure you follow the installation instructions that came with your satellite radio when you purchased it, carefully, this will help you solve the problem, you are encountering with your device
Thanks and take care

Belkin N 150 locks out my Sirus satelite radio It worked fine until my son had his laptop tuned up How can I reset the router?

Most routers can be reset by simply holding the power or reset button for an extended period of time (5-30 seconds depending on model). Usually (a) light(s) will blink upon reset.
Hopefully this solves your problem. If not please try typing in 192.168.1.1 to access your routers settings and make sure you don't have your radio blocked by MAC address or something odd like that. Hope this helps and thank you.
