1994 zenith no power light how to fix

Most often, a fuse on the set mainboard has blown. You need to be very careful because there can be allot of stored energy in a CRT type television....on the order of tens of thousands of volts. The fuse will be inside near the power input.

My advice is to not open up the TV unless you are experienced. The voltages inside can kill or seriously injure.

The bad news is that this fuse ususlly blows when the sets "flyback" transformer goes bad. This is not a simple item to replace and you should take the set to a good repair shop and get an estimate to see if the set is worth fixing.

Every time i change the fuse it blows up

You have a shorted Horizontal Output transistor and a bad capacitor or two. Look for a bad resistor and you may have a bad flyback transformer [rare]. But yes the transistor is down!

Plug in no power

Check the fuse inside the TV. If fuse blows, there is a problem elsewhere.

The initial spark you are mentioning is due to degaussing coil. This is not routed through fuse.

FUSE BLOWS EVERTIME I TURN MY TV ON. I CAN REPLACE THE FUSE AND DISCONNECT THE FLYBACK FROM THE CRT,TURN THE SET BACK ON ,CHECK THE FUSE IT WOULD STILL BE GOOD,BUT WHEN I REINSERT THE FLYBACK AND TURN THE...

Possibly a resistor that's becoming defective... it's changing value thus increasing current. like if the resistor has a rating of a 10k Ohm and now it's changing to a 30K Ohm and the current (amps) is supposed to be around .50Amps and now it's rising to .75Amps or higher, so it would blow the fuse so as not to further damage any other high voltage or sensetive component. Is the fuse you are replacing the same as rated for the tv? ie; 250V 1.25Amp FB (fast blow) or SB (slow blow) it should say on the circut board where the fuse plugs into.
