Question about Hampton Bay 04078 Avanti Ceiling Fan

Open Question

I have a windward III fan and the high speed deos

I have a windward III, hampton bay fan and the high speed does not work correctly, the high speed is the same as low, very slow ....
The low and medium speed are ok but the high speed dies.
I want to know if this is problems with the receiver/remote control or the fan engine in itself

SOURCE: Hampton Bay 54 In. 5-Blade with remote control at wall.

1. Set the remote to run the fan on high.
2. Pull the fan speed chain until the fan reaches high speed.
3. All speeds should work normally now.
The remote is modulating the maximum speed as set by the pull chain.

Most fans have a small rectangular multi-tap capacitor connected to the speed control in the fan. It is likely that this has gone partially bad. The capacitance values are printed on it. Lighting stores and big box hardware stores generally carry replacements.

Hello Allez Brive. A suggeston, remove the battiers and short out the battery contacts. insert new battiers with correct polarity and test operation. The age of your remote maybe the problem. Good luck.

Windworld III has mind of its own -- light comes on any time it likes fan changes speed

This sounds like one of the most common problems with Hampton Bay's remote-contolled fans...either the transmitter (remote control) or the receiver (mounted in the fan, typically inside the ceiling canopy) has gone haywire. A circuit has blown or something is short-circuited, and it has a mind of it's own. The only fix is to replace the receiver and transmitter, which are relatively cheap and sold as a pair at your local Home Depot and Lowes.

Hope that helps! If you ave any other questions, feel free to ask!
