The log of x is always 1 if your function reads y=log(x). if you insert a value for x, hit log, then enter the value, close the parentheses and hit enter for the value

The 30XIIS only calculates logs to base e (natural log, ln) and base 10 (common log, log). However logs to any base can be calculated indirectly.
To calculate log base b of x, calculate either log(x)/log(b) or ln(x)/ln(b).

How to get ans log of bases other then 10


You can calculate the log to any base B by dividing the base-10 log by the log-base-10 of the base B. You can also calculate it by dividing the natural log by the natural log of B.

For example, to calculate the base-3 log of 10, calculate
log(10) / log(3)
or

It's very simple: the calculators have a default base 10 so that log x it's log x base 10 so here is some logs:
log x base y = log x / log y
log (x*y) = log x + log y
log (x/y) = log x - log y

How to calculate log value in calculator with different base value


In any scientific calculator log2(n) can be  calculated with either ln or log function as follows
 
Log2(n)= ln(n) / ln(2)
 
Or
Log2(n)=log(n) / log(2)

both will give nearly the same answers
