Yesthose wires must also come off..

    INDIRA KUMAR May 02, 2010

Remove the two wires connected to the pump and use an ohm meter to
read output. Place the meter between the two terminals of the washer's pump.Ensure ohm reading is between 5 and 10 before checking other parts of
the machine for obstructions, namely in the holding tank below the spin
drum. If the ohm reading is too low, a new pump is the final diagnosis.

My dishwasher wont drain! help

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

As the water did not drain completely then check the drain hose & drain pump filter located inside the front bottom access panel for any clogs/obstructions, if you have already cleaned these parts and the unit will not work then replacing the drain pump is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

F21 code and leaking from behind washer where hose comes out. Already used shop vac to drain hose, got code again on cleaning cycle.

F21 is a code for Long Drain.check to see if anything is clogging the pump.If you remove the 3 1/4" hex screws from the bottom panel, you can remove the panel.Behind the panel is a large white pump. You can remove the filter and check to see that nothing is clogged inside.

Kenmore HE2 does not drain after first load.

  1. Unplug the washer to completely disconnect electrical power.
  2. Remove the bottom front service panel.
  3. Carefully reach up through the bottom opening and pull the release tab on the bottom of the door lock assembly until it clicks. NOTE: Internal metal edges in the washer can be sharp. Protective gloves are recommended for this procedure.
By pulling the manual release tab on the door lock assembly, you should be able to get the washer door open. After opening the door and removing the clothes, I recommend emptying any remaining water in the tub with a wet/dry vacuum (or bail it out). Since you already have the bottom front service panel off and the washer unplugged, you can arrange shallow pans and towels to catch any remaining water and pull the large item filter out of the drain pump assembly as shown in the second image below. You may find a clog in this area that is preventing your washer from draining properly. Clear any clog or debris from this area and reassemble the washer. Check your drain hose for a kink or clog. Check the washer house drain for a clog or restriction. Test the washer to see if it will drain properly.

Clogged up

If there is no filter to be found at the front lower right of washer, then you need to remove the lower rear panel of washer.
Locate and remove the large black hose fastened to bottom of drum.
Remove and clean plastic filter inside hose.
Remove hose onto pump, and checkjfor obstruction here and in the pump itself.
Please rate my solution.

It wont drain and we already removed front panel to see if something was clogged and there was debris in the drain but after removing it it still wont drain

If you cleaned the drain pump itself (on the bottom behind the lower front panel), and it did not help - the pump needs replacement.
By cleaning the pump itself I mean that cleaning the rubber hose from tub to pump and coin trap is usually not enough, you need to remove 3-5 screws, holding the pump together, and make sure the impeller is not blocked.
I am assuming here that there is power to the pump, and there is at least humming noise or light vibration when you touch it during the drain cycle.

Here is your pump. Coupon "New10" takes 10% off.

Our front loader washer is stuck in "drain mode". It sounds like it is trying to drain and some water comes out. The door and all controls are locked. Already tried the usual fix.

water left in machine tub? if so the pressure sw is probably telling the board keep draining. in this case open front cover and drain pump through cleanout access and clean tray-possible clog.

How do I access the pump on my washer

Since you failed to tell us the brand and model of your washer, it's pretty hard to help. If it's a top-loader, the back panel is the access point and the front and sides are normally assembled as a unit and dropped over the innards. It shouldn't be necessary to remove the front at all.

Fixing a clogged pump on GE Profile washer

Take a putty knife and slide it in between the front panel and top to pop the clips that hold on the top. Remove the front panel and you will see the pump down in the front corner. Remove the hoses (watch for water) and you should see any clog. Check hoses and drain line (home) to be sure there is no clog in those while you have it apart. Be sure to unplug your machine before working on it as well. Good Luck!!! Jim
