Question about Cozy (W352E) Heater

My cozy counterflow wall furnace burner comes on, come up to heat, but the fan does not come on. I have replaced the fan switch, the limit switch and the speed switch. Could the problem be in the auxillary limit switch?

My good man furnace model gmh80903bnca will not get to temp fan shuts off and burners keep burning then kicks off on high limit then starts process over but never gets to temp set at 655

If you have a switch that can manually turn on the fan, try it to verify the fan works. This is what I think is happening. The normal operation should be thermostat calls for heat, inducer fan comes on, pressure switch closes, igniter glows, main burner ignites and then in 30 or so seconds the fan comes on and stays on until the thermostat is satisfied. Once the thermostat is satisfied the burner shuts off and the fan runs for approx 120 seconds then shuts off. I think the control board that automatically turns your fan on is faulty. On most modern furnaces if the auto fan control fails and the furnace gets to hot and limits, when the limit opens and shuts off the burner it also energizes the fan motor to cool the heat exchanger.

How do I wire a induce fan motor

Induced fan motors on older units are wired through the high limit safety on the stack - in series. When the furnace calls for heat, the induced fan motor comes on and after a time the furnace will light.

Older units have a temp switch in the stack that rotates to bring on the burners and blower motor. . When there is a call for heat, the induced draft fan motor comes on and then the burners will light.

After the heat exchanger is warmed up the limit switch will bring the blower motor on. That's basically how it works - there are two circuits - one for the induced draft motor and the burners and the other for the blower and high limit.

New units have a plug on the board you just plug in.

My older Cozy cf353c counterflow wall heater gas shuts off pilot after it has run a while. I replaced the bad fan switch thermostat[ fan would not run untill changed] but not the other lemit switch . Could...

first have the heat exchanger inspected for a hole or crack, if there is an oval to round adpt. on top of unit or an elbow in vent this can cause the heat exchanger to split open and also cause what you are talking about.

My heater will kick on right away but after 3-5mins it stops producing heat then a few mins later it will start heating again. Why?

The furnace could be shutting off on High Limit ...means your furnace is running too hot...check your filter and make sure return air vents are clean and clear....also it can be the Heat anticipator in your thermostat...which controls how many times your furnace cycles...basically your furnace should come on and off 5-6 times/hr ....need more info on your type of furnace and type of thermostat

Fan switch will not make (limit switch).

If the snap switch is not located close enough to the plenum, this can be problem. The other option would be to cover the switch area with a metal shield or liatherm paper (fire rtardant paper).
