Question about Toshiba Satellite L555-S7916 Notebook
Bought a Toshiba L555 yesterday out of craigslist. I had the seller gp through the system with me. It was awesome. So then I brought it home and I can't get past the password login screen. I haven't been able to do anything on this awesome computer. I've looked at and downloaded some password reset/recovery software onto a USB but either Im not setting bios correctly or the USB is not being read. Is there a way to do a safe-mode to adjust/erase the old password?
I've been trying to reach the seller but unsuccessful. Thank you.
You should be able to get into the different boot options by pressing F8 as the computer starts up.
If so, select "Safe Mode" and Windows 7 will boot up into safe mode. There should be an "Administrator" account aside from the "Owner" account, and the Administrator should have no password...
From there, go to Start, Control Panel, click on User Accounts, and click it again in the next screen. Your account information should be on the screen now; from here click on "Manage User Accounts." A second window should pop up with the available user accounts on the computer. Click on the one you're trying to log in with, and at the bottom of the window, click "reset password".
Enter a password that you normally use (you can always remove it later). Click OK. Now you should be able to log in to that account with the password you just put in. Restart and try it out.
Let me know how it goes :)

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
