All belts are not created equal. I recommend staying with the manufacturer's belt. Riding mower belts have to take a lot of torque when engaged and a lesser belt will have much less life. You may end up changing belts several times to learn a valuable lesson.

How do I Determine why my lawnmower went dead?

It appears to be an electrical issue. Check the switch under the seat, mower engagement and others. Go to the Ariens website for more information on your specific riding mower.

Attached is the blade diagram for correct placement of the deck belt. There is some bleed through from the back page, but you can see the direction of the belt. I have a 1525 mower for the last 11 years, still running and going. Hope this helps! 25105582-ergctme4kokczpvvmmku3zkh-5-1.jpg

Blades won t engage on my ariens ezr1740 riding lawnmower. Motor runs good. Belts r good. What should I check

Check your battery is well charged. Also check that fuse is not blown in electric clutch circiut. Clutches take a good power supply to engage. Check water level in battery. Maybe have to charge battery with external charger on power point.

Lawnmower wheels won't drive

If its a riding mower it probably the drive belts off track or slung off. The mower will still start up and turn blades with the drive belt off, but want engage to go forward or reverse if this is the problem.

Remove gas from Ariens 42" zero turn lawnmower

easiest way is to remove the tank and dump it out. you can also remove the fuel line at the carburetor and allow it to drain out there into an approved container. if you choose the latter be sure to have the cap off the tank to allow air in
