So I have an EOS Rebel Xsi, and it has been working perfectly for the last couple of months. I turned it on and tried to take a picture in MF, but then a yellow light on the front starts flashing and...

Sounds like the self timer was accidently set.

Description

Using the Self-timer on the EOS REBEL T3i.

Solution

The self-timer is useful when you want to photograph yourself or prevent camera shake caused when the shutter is released.
1. Set the power switch to <ON>.
2. Press < > button.
3. Press <Cross Keys> to select the desired self-timer, then press the <SET> button.
: 10-sec. self-timer (The remote control can also be used.)
: 2-sec. self-timer
: 10-sec. self-timer plus continuous shots. After selecting , press <Cross Keys> to set the number of multiple shots (2 to 10) to be taken with the self-timer.)
4. Look through the viewfinder, focus the subject, then press the shutter button completely.
  • You can check the self-timer operation with the self-timer lamp, beeper, and countdown display (in seconds) on the LCD monitor.
  • Two seconds before the picture is taken, the self-timer lamp will stay on and the beeper will sound faster.
Attention:
With [ ], the interval between the multiple shots may be prolonged depending on the shooting functions settings such as the image-recording quality or flash.
NOTE:
  • After taking self-timer shots, you should check the image for proper focus and exposure.
  • If you will not look through the viewfinder when you press the shutter button, attach the eyepiece cover. If stray light enters the viewfinder when the picture is taken, it may throw off the exposure.
  • When using the self-timer to photograph only yourself, use focus lock on an object at about the same distance as where you will stand.
  • To cancel the self-timer after it starts, press the < > button.

Tip

How to take best pictures.

1. The best pictures can be taken with a tripod and using self timer or the remote control of the camera.

2. Some people think that the best picture can be taken with suddenly pressing the shutter. In reality it is not true. So the best pictures can only be taken with two steps. First, pressing half way and without not shaking the camera continuing on pressing the shutter. At last the camera takes picture. But a good photographer does not know the moment of taking the picture. He/She only knows and concentrates on not shaking the camera.

3. Best pictures can only be taken with an artistic point of view. Best photographers place the subjects to the most estetic point and the best estetic position.

4. Best pictures can only be taken without using the flash.

5. Best pictures can only be taken at the Golden Hour time. Golden Hour is the time period, starting with the Sun rise and ends after an hour. Second Golden Hour starts before an hour of Sun Set and ends with the Sun Set.

6. Best pictures can only be taken by a best photographer so you can never see a best photographer's portrait as a best picture.

7. Best pictures can not be taken with a most expensive camera but can be taken by a best working amateur photographer.

8. Best pictures can not be taken by professionals but can be taken by the professional amateurs.

9. Best pictures can only be taken with the camera which has a greater sensor size.

10. Best pictures can only be taken with a natural view of the objects.

I cant take picture just see them

The camera does not take a picture when I press the Shutter button.
• Press the Shutter button all the way down.
• Make sure you are in Picture Capture.
• The memory card or internal memory may be full. Transfer images from the camera to your computer, then format the internal memory or the memory card. Or replace the card with a new one.
• The camera may be processing. Wait a few seconds for the camera to finish processing the last image before taking another picture.

No instructions need to know how to operate

The Nikon MC-EU1 Remote Cord is an accessory available for the Nikon COOLPIX 880/885/990/995 4300/4500/5000/5400/5700/8700 cameras. The MC-EU1 Remote Cord is 80 cm long and allows the camera to be fired remotely like a cable release for a film-based camera.

The MC-EU1 Remote Cord's main function is to prevent camera shake. As well as the shutter release function, the MC-EU1 has the following functions.
1. operate the camera's zoom remotely,
2. advance or return images in the playback mode,
3. Controlling interval photography, automatically fire the cameras over a given interval.
Note this is the only Nikon remote cord available NIKON COOLPIX cameras and is only compatible with the cameras listed.

The Nikon MC-EU1 remote cord has two Interval modes, A and B

In Interval Mode A: the first photograph is taken at the start; and subsequent photographs taken at the specified time intervals, thereafter.

In Interval Mode B: the first photograph is not taken until the specified time interval has passed and subsequent photographs taken at the specified time intervals.

These modes can be selected by pressing the MODE button. The device cycles through settings in the order, Remote Mode, Interval Mode A, and Interval Mode B. When the Remote Mode is selected, the LCD panel displays Remote; when Interval Mode A is selected, Interval appears together with the letter A and Interval Mode B is indicated by Interval and the letter B.

The interval Modes, allow you to take photographs one after the other at a selected interval, which can be set in increments of one second to any value from two minutes to twenty-four hours. Interval modes are only available when the camera is in recording mode and cannot be used when the camera is in playback mode.

Setting the Interval

1. Setting the camera to recording mode and the remote cord to Interval Mode A or B, the interval setting will be shown in the remote cord LCD display. Items currently selected for editing will flash. Each time the selection (SEL.) button is pressed, the item selected will change as shown below.

Select the desired time by altering the settings (second [S], minute [M], or hour [H]) one at a time. While the item is flashing, press the down button to decrease the time set, or the up button to increase the time set. The value displayed will change by one each time either button is pressed.

2. After adjusting settings, press the selection button until the display is no longer flashing.

Starting Interval Mode Photography

• Half-pressing the remote shutter-release button has the same effect as half-pressing the shutter-release button on the camera, readying the camera to take a photograph. If the interval is set to less than two minutes when the shutter-release button is half-pressed, the interval display will flash. Choose an interval of two minutes or more.

• Full-pressing the remote shutter-release button has the same effect as full-pressing the shutter-release button on the camera, starting interval mode photography.

• When the camera enters interval mode, it will either take a picture and then begin the count to the next photograph (Interval Mode A), or begin the count to the first photograph (Interval Mode B). The Interval indicator in the LCD display will flash while interval mode is in effect.

Ending Interval Mode Photography

• Half-pressing the remote cord shutter-release button while an interval mode is in progress stops the interval photography.

• Photography will also stop should you run out of available space on the compact flash card; In this case, the number of exposures remaining displayed in the LCD panel will be 000.

The MC-EU1 has a feature that when the zoom button is pressed twice in rapid succesion, the camera will start zooming until this function is cancelled by pushing the button a third time. If this function is not cancelled, no other function is possible with the MC-EU1. If the MC-EU1 does not respond as expected please ensure you have not activated the zoom function.

[source]Question about Samsung Digimax S500 Digital Camera[/source]
Try replacing batteries (high Ah photographic type).
The lens motor & electronics may be draining power if Ah capacity has dropped too low. At night, it could be that your flash is trying to fire (another drain), or shutter timer / mirror staying open longer.

I wanna take a picture but i dont know how to make the camara wait 10 sec before it takes the picture

Hi,

Self-timer shooting:

This function lets you take pictures using the self-timer.
Fix the camera securely on a tripod for self-timer shooting. This function is useful for taking
pictures when you want to be included in the photograph.

1 Select [ON], and press Z.
2 Press the shutter button fully to
take the picture.
• Pressing the shutter button halfway
locks the focus and exposure.
• The self-timer lamp lights for
approximately 10 seconds, then starts
blinking. After blinking for approximately
2 seconds, the picture is taken.
• To stop shooting while in n mode,
press the shutter button fully again.
• To cancel the self-timer, press Z.
• The self-timer mode is automatically canceled after one shot.

Note:
• If sequential shooting is attempted in self-timer mode, the camera shoots 5
frames at most regardless of the setting.

Hope my info fixes your problem,
Thanx for using fixya,
cheers.

Why does it take so long to take a picture?

You may be pressing the shutter all the way down at once. This forces the camera to focus, make exposure adjustments, and capture the image all at once. By pressing the shutter button partially to focus, then the rest of the way to capture the image, your camera can process pictures more quickly. If you are taking a picture in Uncompressed Tiff mode, the camera takes longer to process the image. Tiff images create large files and can take approximately 32 seconds to process. If you are trying to capture large, high quality images that you can print, try setting the camera to HyPict mode instead of Tiff mode.
