Question about Poulan Garden

1 Answer

Are spark plugs counter clockwise to loosen and clockwise to tighten or are they reverse threaded? I am having a tough time getting the spark plug out and want to make sure it isn't something simple like going the wrong way to loosen.

All spark plugs are right-hand thread, clockwise to tighten, counter-clockwise to remove.

How change spark plugs

Have a look on the following link for the socket/wrench/tool you will need:
spark plug socket Google Search

To avoid getting the ignitions leads replaced in the wrong order:
Remove ONE lead from ONE plug at a time.
Use the tool/socket to remove that plug by turning anti-clockwise.

Put the new socket in hand tight - this is to avoid cross-threading the spark plug and damaging its threads/threads in cylinder head.

When the spark plug is hand-tight/finger tight, tighten it with the socket /tool. Just 'gently tighten it up' - do not overtighten.

Replace the ignition lead and then move onto the next plug.

How do I remove a "rapid fit" drain stopper?

These are a little tough to do sometimes as they seize up. I typically will tighten them by hand just a little to some times crack seal they have made in threads. Then feather then unscrew I unscrew while putting force on edge as if you were trying to tip it to one side. 99% of time this is enough.
If not unscrew top counter clockwise then use small pliers to grab unit as low was possible. When free clean threads and put a light cost of Vaseline on threads so it does not happen again.

How to change plugs on 93 lincoln tc

You need to remove the plug boots first, twist them and gently pull up, DO NOT FORCE THEM! Then obtain a extra deep spark plug socket in 3/8" drive and turn the plugs counter clockwise to loosen, remove the plugs from the wells they set in (use a pencil magnet if needed) and install the new plugs, tighten to 18 foot pounds of torque, use a tiny drop of oil on the threads, do not use anti-seize.

How to remove chainsaw clutch in poulan pro 4218 avl

you have to buy a hard plastic plug which you place into the spark -plug hole. they are inexpensive. Be sure to get the right one with the proper thread.

You then remove the bar and chain. Next, using a socket and wrench you turn the clutch assembly clockwise. (as opposed to counter-clockwise). It will loosen up . then you remove the clutch and install whatever you want. Leave the plug in until you are finished then install everything and tighten up the clutch fairly tight. Do not over tighten. You may break the piston. Turning the clutch thread clockwise this time.

Hello my name is Lisa, I've just recently bought a stanley rotator ratchet and three stanley spark-plug socket kit, and I'm using the 13/16 to try to remove an old spark-plug, but I can't...

turn the thumb knob on top of ratchet to opposite direction and then try it in your hand first, now I have seen cases where if you are in tight quarters that the ratchet will change directions by itself because the knob rubs on something and causes it to reverse. good luck

To loosen blade bolt, is it counter clockwise or does it have a reverse thread? also is there a trick to removing spark plug wire?

The bolt should be a normal left to loosen, right to tighten.

The plug wire should just need a gentle twist and pull to release.
They get very sticky after a couple dozen heat cycles.
A shot of WD inside the boot can help with future removals.

Good luck and be careful.

How do i replace spark plugs on 2004 subary forester

Replace one at a time. Don't remove all the wires at once or the firing order will be messed up.
Make sure spark plug area is clean so no debris will fall inside the cylinder.
Remove plug wire by pulling it off by the boot and not the wire itself.
Then with extension(s) spark plug socket and socket wrench, turn them counter-clockwise until they are out, put new plug in and tighten clockwise. It may be easiest to start them by using your hand instead of the socket wrench itself. Make sure they start going in fairly easily. If they feel tight right away, the threads may not be seating right and they can get cross-threaded.
Tighten completely, don't over tighten but not loose, just snug. Then push boot from plug wire back on and move to the next one.

Need to know how to change plugs and wires on a 98 pontiac firebird (am a female gentleman be easy lol)

You will need a 5/8 sparkplug socket for a 3/8 drive ratchet
A 3/8 drive extension bar
A 3/8 drive ratchet
Pull wire off of spark plug, slide socket over plug, turn counter clockwise until plug comes out. Some might come out hard, and some are a son of gun to get at. To install, it's just reverse, but don't really crank down on them when you tighten them. At the same time, you can replace the wire on each plug you take out. Do one at a time, that way you won't screw up the firing order. Good luck.

How do I change a tank lever

remove tank lid, tank lever nuts are reverse threaded. So instead of turning counter clockwise to remove, turn clockwise to loosen. Unhook the chain on the end, and install the new lever by following the same procedure in reverse, tightening the nut by turning counterclockwise.
