Camera want flash sony dsc-h3

If it flashes when you take any photo then you have the flash set to manual override for each shot or you're just shooting in areas too dark for any photos without the flash. Check your flash settings or try a factory default reset from the camera's menu options.

DSC-H3 does not focus a subject properly as compare to the begining. The picture is blurred in autofucus mode as well.

Dear Bobby,

Your concerns about the mechanical/physical integrity of the components may be valid. However, it could be a simpler, and less stressful problem altogether.

I recommend, you get hold of a micro-fibre cloth. And, blow at the lens, and clean it in circular directions. As your camera appears to be quite old, I recommend cleaning the lens, as it could have gathered dirt, or dust.

There is no focus sensor, as such. There is however an autofocus motor. Which could be the problem. However, let's take it one step at a time.

Hope I was of assistance.

Regards,

Rebel K.

Blurry view

The simplest thing which might have gone wrong is that you mistakenly activated the macro function. Try taking a picture of, say, a flower from a few inches: if it's sharp, you're employing the camera's macro function and need to deactivate it.

I don't recall the DSC having a manual focus setting, but check it out. If you turned it on, you need to manually adjust the focus through the zoom control in order to get sharp pictures (or turn on autofocus, of course).

Otherwise, the auto-focusing software might be at fault. There are several autofocus settings available; try cycling them all and see if the problem is reversible.

If not, either the autofocus parameters are gone awry - I'm afraid the camera'll need servicing - or maybe a dirty lens is causing the autofocus to malfunction, in which case cleaning it would solve the problem. Frankly, it's unlikely - it would take a really cleverly positioned and greasy fingerprint to fool a modern focusing engine. But you might be lucky, and it's worth a check.

SONY CYBERSHOT DSC - H3 DIGITAL CAMERA FLASH PROBLEM

Hi Jim,
Have you tried resetting all settings on the camera? On a Sony camera, it is called "initialize". The initialize setting is found by going to the menu, and tabbing down until you find an option called either "reset settings" or "initialize settings" and then confirm it.
Many times that will fix the issue, in case something has either been enabled/disabled on accident, or the software is sticking (which happens from time to time)

DSC-F717 autofocus stops working

I was first going to also suggest a reset. Does your manual focus function correctly from near to far(turning the focus ring in manual) and does the wide to tele motion function fully and smoothly? (lens adjustability without restriction) Was your camera exposed to extreme heat or elements?(beach sand or water of any kind) It may mean electronics only or a mechanical restriction causing an electronic malfunction. A last resort may mean your closer documenting when or how frequent it happens and maybe ultimately a trip (for your camera) to Sony. Get a price quote for repair since you might strike a happy medium of using the camera differently (manually focussing) without exceeding the value of the camera for repair costs.
