Question about Bosch Dishwashers

2 Answers

I have an SKT51 series (silver edition) Bosch free-standing dishwasher. The problem is that a few days ago, when the washing was over and I started emtpying the dishwasger I found in the dishwasher a grey plastic part with the number 5603000027 on it. Obviously, it got loose from somewhere, but I cannot find where it was. The washing quality since then is definitely lower, food remaining on the dishes, which are not properly dried. What could be wrong?

Hello. The best way to find that part is to get your model number. If you are not sure where to look for it go to this link

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/modelCategoryLanding.pd?selectedCategory=mc_dishw

Then use that model number to get a diagram of all of the parts on your machine at this link

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/merchandiser/show.pd?description=Home%20Appliances

Once you spot your part on the diagram you will be able to properly attach it again. Joe

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check the Water temperature by using a thermometer inside the dishwasher to measure the water temp. It should be as close to 125 degree F to 140 degree F as possible. Now try using the temperature boost feature if your dishwasher is equipped with this cycle feature and check if this will help your wash ability issues.

Now check the Powder soap by making sure that you store your soap in a dry environment and it is not stale and clumping together. Possibly try a different detergent like a liquid or gel. Also, make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.

To check the proper filling dishwasher will fill with water up to and around the heating element. If water is more below the heating element, you may have low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. Try & listen if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.

For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. And, check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. Also make sure that the water is draining and is not accumulated in the dishwasher, if it is in dishwasher then check for clogged drain hoses and drain pump.

Low water fills are a very common trouble maker with today's dishwasher. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

The loose part could have come loose from the entrance of the dishwasher.

Switch machine on but do not program.
Press and hold PREWASH button.
After a few seconds it begins beeping.
Keep holding PREWASH button in until beep gets quiet
then eventually stops.
Hope this helps - Colin, Billericay Essex

Where is the float on bosch silver edition?

Hi, This model could well have two systems that will let it fill. One will be on the left hand side as you look at the dishwasher which will require you to remove the side panel. Start with this first as if it is the later version then it will be in the bottom of the dishwasher which will require you to remove the side panels to get to it. The switch in the first method will be a small micro swith and the other will be a large pressure switch located in the bottom. I would think it will be the first method.
Look at it and let me know how you get on.
