Try the following steps:

  1. On the monitor, press Menu, and select Factory Reset.
  2. If the monitor has more than one type of connection available such as VGA, DVI, or HDMI, try a different type of connection.
  3. Connect the monitor to another computer. If the line appears when the monitor is connected to the second computer, the monitor might be damaged or defective.Otherwise, the video card and driver is causing the problem from the computer. ry the following steps:

Sounds like you need to do a realignment to your picture on your monitor, look on the front panel on you monitor for a menu button, press it, just once wait for the menu to come up, the you should see arrow keys next to the menu button, scrowl down until you find Horizonal adjust, they may call it something else, follow the instructions on the screen to make the nessary adjustments, you can adjust brightness and contrast also. Thanks Rick

Horizontal lines have started appearing, running all he way across the monitor screen....several close together abour 3 inches from the top, and one, sometimes two, about an inch from the bottom... I have...

what you are seeing ithe horizonal sync lines, have you tried to adjust the settings on this monitor, I would try turning down the brightness, and the contrast. There should be a menu button on the monitor to adjust it.

Horizonal lines

Unfortunately you can't.

This is what happens when you blow pixels on your monitor.

If it is still in warranty this will be covered.

If you are outside of your warranty then you will need a new monitor

My samsung 910 Monitor has horizonal lines going through the picture***

If the lines are stationary then the damage may be in the screen itself
IF in just a part of the screen that may not be fixable.
If covering the entire screen, then check to see if the screen has a ribbon on the rear connecting the top board to the side board.
Check the ribbon that goes from the video board to the back of the screen, see if moving it about changes anything.
If the lines move up and down, then the problem may be in the video card itself. This usually isn't fixable or should I say not worth the cost to fix if you can find someone that does video chips.
