I have an Elna Junior Club sewing machine and I am sewing Lycra and using the number 14 stretch stich. It just loops and bunches up underneath even though I have set everything as instructed.

Did you pre-wash the fabric? Sometimes the finish applied at the factory causes problems. Also, be sure to use a ball point needle on knit fabric. Sometimes, using a walking foot, teflon foot, or roller foot will help the fabric move smoother through the machine. It could be that your machine is experiencing a problem with the back-n-forth movement of the stretch stitch. Otherwise, here are more guidelines to review:

I need to put bobin in place but Nedle dosent take the tread up

Make sure you are using a brand new needle and that is inserted correctly (there is right & wrong way!).

If it still will not pick up the bobbin thread, most likely the needle/hook timing is off. Take it for service.

Tension wrong on sewing genie , bottom stich just makes a huge mess

Begin with tension setting in the middle of it's range. If the stitching improves tighten until it's perfect. Ps "Sewing Genie" isn't a real sewing machine... apologies.

Knit stitch problem

I know this is easy to say, but make sure your machine is threaded properly. And try sewing a piece of knit fabric without the knit stitch. You can still sew seams etc this way if you very slightly stretch the fabric as you sew.

My stiches keep missing a stich

SKIPPED STITCHES
1.the needle is not inserted correctly
2.the needle is damaged
3.the wrong size needle is being used
4.the foot is not attached correctly
if these suggestions don't help the the machine could be out of
time & the machine would need to be taken to a sewing machine
shop to be checked

When I sew the back of the material thread is big loops. Is this because my bobbin is not set right?

I have a 12 sticher Kenmore maching that won't lay down the stiches? Everything is threaded but the thread won't go into the fabric

Check the needle, make sure it is not in backwards. Groove in the needle to the front. If you are sewing on a knit you may need a ball point needle/needle for knits.
