Hi, the possible causes are: Possible Causes: The wall receptacle, power cord (plug) and electrical supply must be in good condition and wired correctly for the dryer to heat.

  • Supply Issue - Loose or missing connection on supply wire from circuit breaker.
  • Plug Issue - Loose or missing connection in the wall. Defective, worn or damaged wall plug.
  • Cord Issue - Loose, missing or incorrect connection of the power cord to the dryer terminals.
If gas dryer and does not heat, Gas Dryer heats with a gas burner, make sure the gas supply line valve is open.
Also, for electric dryer,
Electric dryers require two 30 amp breakers or fuses in the house electrical box to run and heat. If one breaker is tripped or one fuse is blown, the motor, the timer and lights can work but the dryer will not heat.

Please check the continuity of the element by using a multimeter, if open it must be replaced. if the element is good then the wires to the element and the mother board is a suspect.

HOOVER AUTO DRY 5050ED KEEPS STOPPING

hi there, I have repaired many of these dryers. It will be a faulty heater element, most likely. They cost about $40. If you get a tradesman to fit it, they will prob charge you about $200 all up. Maybe its better to buy a new dryer for around $300? Good luck.

Amana ned7200tw dryer not heating, can i remove the heating element myself and if so will it look like it is broken, i don't have a ohm meter?

I tested my heater element and the over-heat cutoff switch in my Hoover Dryer a couple of nights ago with a multimeter and AA battery to prove conductivity. But you could do the same just complete the circuit with a small light instead, as a visual aid. Hope this helps.

There are only 2 things that it could be both are heat related:
THe thermostat and thermal limiter OR the heating element. We can not rule out the motor though. Then you can get into the control boards. Maybe it is time.

Heater element problems

Why did you decided that it is an heating element problem,it could be a thermostat issue as well. Check with a multi-meter whether you have power on the heating element tags. In case you have power on its tags, the heating element should be replaced. But in case you can't read any power on its tags, it's probably a thermostat issue. Good luck!
