My honeywell smartfit central heating control panel show the following; ''OFF'' and I can not turn it on no matter what butten I press. I tried to turn it on by the user guide . (main power is on in the fuse box) what is the problem? how to turn it on?

There are other universal replacements but if it was me I would stick with the honeywell parts. I know they are more expensive but in your instance where you already have a problem that is causing the control panels to fail I'm afraid you would make it worse by using other then factory replacements.Thank you

Multiple possibilities:
Damage to cable (doing any DIY?)
Failure of thermo
Board gone in heat unit
Possibly simple as loose or disengaged connection, check at thermo & heat unit, if nothing obvious, call serviceperson.

Bottom red highlighted box literature/image search
Type in thermostat model number
Click on arrow to right
Then click on the PDF files owners manual / installation instructions
If you can’t find what you want, the bottom left and bottom of web

St6400c thermostat wont run the central heating independantly

This does not sound like a thermostat problem. I would be looking for a zone valve or circulator pump problem.

My central heating system comprises a worcester bosch system boiler and honeywell smartfit controls. The problem I am having is that the central heating doesn't seem to knock off at the preset temperature...

You could possibly have an ignition problem. The controller will go into a lock-out condition if flame is not established. Turning the temperature control down and then back up may be serving to reset the control system so it tries again.
