I would be happy to help you with your Officejet 4315. I understand your faxes are printing but there is no ink on the page. I suggest using the following document to troubleshoot the issue:

If the issue persists, what you can do, is use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:

Step 1. Open link: h22207 www2 hp com
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click on: HP contact options - click on Get phone number

Case number and phone number appear.

Use the disk that came with the printer and install the software in both the computers based on the os installed in the individual computers, ping the ip address of the printer from both the computers, and then test for the functionality

Click on Software & Driver Downloads

Than select your operating system. Available software will be listed for download and on many you can order a new CD-ROM if you like.

Best thing to do is to download the software to your Desktop using the Save option when the download window opens. After the download, make sure you have power ON, paper in, and ink in, but DO NOT connect the USB cable until prompted by the software.

Hi there

Are you absolutely sure the printer is connected securely from both ends of the cable and turned on? If so, try turning it off and on again. Did it come online?

If not, how is the printer connected to your computer? Is it by USB cable, or via a network cable? And also let me know your operating system like XP or Vista etc.

If your printer is supporting USB interface, then you should install the driver for your printer to your lap-top.

Then connect your printer to your lap using USB port.
